As a Phlebotomist in our practice, you will provide premium services to our members who are presenting for their Q Bio exams, with a focus on laboratory specimen collection services. This role requires exceptional technical skills combined with outstanding customer service to deliver a memorable experience to our clientele. What You'll Do
- Greet and register patients in the clinic, and answer any questions they may have related to the exam
- Consent patients for participation in any ongoing research studies
- Take vital signs (including blood pressure, heart rate, and respiration rate) and other physiologic tests (such as hand-held EKG).
- Prepare patients for venipuncture procedure, including explaining the process and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Help nervous or anxious patients remain calm during blood draws.
- Perform venipunctures with precision and minimal discomfort for patients.
- Collect other laboratory specimens such as urine and saliva samples as needed
- Process specimens in accordance with laboratory requirements and protocols including centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparation for transport as required by test orders
- Maintain complete specimen integrity throughout collection, handling, and transport process
- Accurately label, track, and document all specimens; strong data entry skills are essential
- Maintain all appropriate laboratory logs in a timely manner and based on frequency, such as maintenance logs and temperature log
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are properly maintained, stocked, and compliant with quality control standards.
- Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as needed, including for research purposes
- Uphold strict patient confidentiality and privacy standards at all times
What You'll Bring
- CA state phlebotomy license
- Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience, preferably in a concierge, private, or high-end healthcare environment
- Excellent venipuncture skills across diverse patient populations
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor, aligned with a luxury service environment
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including potentially weekends if required
- Experience with electronic medical records and accurate data entry
- Current BLS/CPR certification
