Job Overview:

We are looking forward to continued growth in 2025 which is why we are looking for a Lead Data/Software Engineer. As a Lead Data/Software Engineer you’ll be part of Harver’s Data team, which consists of a Product Data Architect and a Machine Learning engineer.

The team is part of the Software department but is also working closely with other departments such as Product, Customer Success and Strategy.

As this is a hybrid role, we are looking for software engineers with an affinity for data as well as data engineers familiar with software engineering.

In this role you get to:

  • Deliver software aligned with the technical architecture and product roadmap, as part of a team. The focus is on data related software applications.
  • Play an active role in the development and maintenance of a fast-growing Business Intelligence platform and various machine learning services
  • Create, deploy and manage new and existing data pipelines that are crucial for our real-time in-product reporting which is one of the driving forces behind our SaaS platform’s success
  • Help shape the technical strategy and provide mentorship to team members
  • Collaborate with team members, software domain teams and product management teams to build on Harver’s data-related products
  • Engage in integrating and analyzing data from multiple data sources to drive decision-making

We’re looking for people who have:

  • At least a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • At least 5 years of data engineering experience using the Python programming language and familiarity with software engineering practices or at least 5 years of software engineering experience with an affinity for data engineering.
  • Experience working with relational and columnar databases (including SQL skills), data warehousing technologies
  • Experience working with data pipelines and awareness of different types of ETL processes and streaming technologies
  • Experience in stakeholder management and project management in general
  • A pragmatic approach to challenges, to keep the team focused and motivated on achieving results
  • A good grasp of software engineering fundamentals and best practices

Additionally, it would be nice to have:

  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Looker/Sisense etc.
  • Experience working with the AWS cloud in general and Lambda
  • Familiarity with tools such as Spark/Glue, DBT, Airflow etc.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript or NodeJS
