Prellis Biologics uses proprietary technology to 3D print lymph node organoids, which we are using to generate in vitro antibody libraries andinvitrohumanlymphnodecoculturesfor generating antigen-specific B-cells.We are seeking a Scientist, Antibody Generation to join our Antibody Screening team.This role will report to the Director of Antibody Screening with accountability for supporting high-throughput antibody sequencing, cloning, expression, purification, and characterization workflows with a specific focus on single B-cell approaches.The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in these processes and a strong background in developing and applying high-throughput automation to accelerate the pace of therapeutic antibody development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the optimization and execution of antibody generation workflows with expertise in antibody sequencing, molecular cloning, protein expression, and protein purification methods.
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of automation protocols supporting high-throughput antibody sequencing, cloning, expression, and purification processes.
- Manage the recombinant antibody production and purification workflows to generate broad panels of antibodies through innovative high-throughput cloning and selection approaches to ensure successful progression of pipeline projects.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate automated systems into broader antibody discovery and development pipelines.
- Train team members on the use of automated systems, ensuring that all users are proficient in operating equipment.
- Stay current with industry trends in antibody generation and high-throughput automation; continuously assess and improve automated workflows to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field with relevant industry experience.
- Extensive experience in molecular cloning, protein expression, and purification, with a strong focus on antibody generation and single B-cell technologies.
- Strong understanding of antibody sequence recovery methods using NGS or 10X approaches.
- Extensive experience in lab automation working directly with liquid handling platforms such as Hamilton, Tecan, Agilent, Beckman Coulter, PerkinElmer, or others in a biotech/pharma setting.
- Knowledge of automation programming and/or scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on innovation and process optimization.
- Significant ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to cross-functional teams.
- Strong technical writing skills and experience authoring SOPs, documentation, and training materials.
- Experience in scaling up workflows in an industry or research setting is a plus.
