Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Product Designer to join our Product Design team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role

Our Product Design organization is a multidisciplinary team that examines the entire member journey and considers the design of systems to be as important as the artifacts we make. Our practice is human-centered, our work is rooted in empathy and research, and we lead by example and with our values.

As a Product Designer, you will actively collaborate with and partner with your colleagues in product, design, and engineering along with stakeholders outside of the technology org, such as clinicians. You will employ research to thoroughly analyze the user journey, recognizing the significance of system design is on par with the artifacts we create. Grounded in empathy and research, your work will be centered on the human experience, setting a leading example driven by our values and insights derived from real human interactions.

Your primary responsibility will be to explore, design, and shape the vision for tools that empower Oscar to deliver best in class care to our Members and Clinicians. This role, focused on our virtual primary care experience, involves generating and exploring ideas and designing, testing, and delivering high-quality features. At Oscar, a Product Designer takes on an active role in defining the long term vision for their designated product areas and collaborates with cross-functional teams to influence roadmaps and establish goals. All of this is done with a shared commitment to challenging the status quo in healthcare.

You will report to a Director, Product Design.
