Ultrasound R&D Engineer

Responsibilities:
Constructing ultrasound and optical compatible phantom models for studies.
Assisting staff scientists and engineers in setting up, running, and analyzing experiments.
Supporting engineers with manufacture of mechanical components through machine shop, 3D printing, and simple modifications of manufactured parts as required.
Maintaining acoustic, mechanical, and electronic equipment, including calibration and repair.
Available for travel up to 20% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications:
Extremely organized, detail oriented, and hands-on. Ability to learn quickly.
BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical or Materials Engineering preferred) or a related scientific field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum of 1 year experience in biotech, pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
Familiar and comfortable with safe use of hand and power tools.
Ability to use oscilloscopes, multimeters and other electronic test equipment.
Demonstrable strong programming abilities in Python, Matlab, or C++.
US work authorization required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Research experience in ultrasound, acoustic simulation, and/or biomedical therapeutic technology.
5 years experience in biotech, pharmaceutical or medical device industry
Research experience with in vitro, animal models and/or clinical trials
Experience independently operating laser cutter, 3D printer, and/or compact milling machine/lathe.
Excellent soldering, wiring and electronic assembly skills.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000
