The Opportunity

The Migration Services team builds the critical, data-driven services that seamlessly move customers across environments in real-time. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and grow this pivotal team.This is a unique opportunity to shape the team's technical direction and culture from the ground up, and you will be helping build and hire for this team.

You are a people-focused leader who is also deeply technical, capable of guiding architectural decisions and willing to be hands-on when needed. This role requires extensive collaboration with numerous Product teams and a close partnership with our Customer Service organization, which utilizes the tooling your team builds to execute customer migrations. What You'll Achieve

  • Build and lead a world-class team. You will recruit, mentor, and support a team of skilled engineers, fostering a strong, collaborative culture and keeping the team motivated and engaged.
  • Own the roadmap and execution. You will partner with product and stakeholder teams to define the team's strategy and roadmap. You'll be responsible for prioritizing work and ensuring the team consistently delivers high-quality, reliable services.
  • Drive engineering excellence. You will hold the team to a high standard of quality, reliability, and operational robustness, championing best practices in software development, from code reviews to incident management.
  • Master cross-functional collaboration. You will serve as the key interface between your team and stakeholders across product, engineering, and customer service, ensuring alignment and smooth execution on complex, cross-team initiatives.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven engineering leadership. You have experience as an Engineering Manager or a Tech Lead with a strong desire to focus on people management.
  • A passion for people. You have a track record of coaching and developing engineers, providing thoughtful feedback, and guiding career growth.
  • Strong technical and architectural acumen. You have a background in building scalable, distributed systems and are comfortable guiding technical discussions. A willingness to get hands-on with code is essential.
  • Exceptional project management skills. You excel at creating technical roadmaps, prioritizing effectively in an agile environment, and managing complex project dependencies.
  • Collaborative leadership style. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills enable you to build strong relationships with stakeholders and inspire your team.

Bonus Points

  • Proficiency in Golang and experience with data-intensive applications.
  • Experience with distributed streaming platforms like Kafka.
  • Familiarity with concepts in the IAM (Identity and Access Management) domain.
  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure) and container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
