The Okta Enterprise Solutions Engineering Team
The Okta Solutions Engineering team members have the rare combination of technical savviness and business insight and will hone each of these skills by advising a diverse set of customers on what is possible using Okta’s Identity Platform. We believe that Okta’s Solutions Engineers must empathize with customers and quickly discern their true technical needs by asking detailed and clarifying questions and presenting solutions that target those needs.
The Sr Manager Pre Sales Engineering, LATAM
Reporting to the Director of Solution Engineering for Enterprise, this role will lead a team of Solution Engineers focused on accounts across all industries in Latin America. Our Solutions Engineering leadership are adept at seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies. They are particularly results focused and partner closely with our Sales leadership to create and execute a plan of action to achieve our growth targets.
What you’ll be doing
- Solution Engineering leaders prioritize the success of their team. You are responsible for working with your team on their professional growth through defined development plans and experiences.
- Partner with sales leadership to define and execute technical pre-sales strategies, ensuring the successful closure of complex deals.
- Understand and adapt to the unique technical and regulatory nuances of the Latin American market, building strong regional relationships.
- Provide expert-level technical guidance and support during complex sales cycles. This includes frequently participating in on-site deal support.
- Build strong partnerships with leadership across cross functional teams like Sales, Product Management, Customer Success, Partners, and Marketing to ensure alignment of technical strategy and business goals. Work with regional sales teams to develop tailored solutions and messaging that resonate with local customers and address regional business needs.
- Develop and nurture strong technical relationships with channel partners in Latin America, enabling them to effectively position and deliver our solutions.
- Always recruiting! You will attract, recruit, ramp, and mentor a team of great Solutions Engineers from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
What you’ll bring to the role
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience managing and mentoring technical pre-sales teams (Sales Engineers, Solution Architects, etc.)
- Demonstrated success selling to Enterprise customers in Latin America. Ability to influence technical decision makers and executives. Experience with and proponent of MEDDPICC and Value/Outcome based selling methodologies.
- A vision for Okta’s opportunity in the market and how our customers will leverage Okta solutions to drive business outcomes.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Portuguese fluency is a significant plus.
- Ability to travel frequently across Latin America as required, estimated at approximately 30-40%
- Exceptional presentation, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelors of Science in engineering, science or business or equivalent experience
And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!
- Expertise in security product market trends and directional awareness of Okta’s roadmap and technology development efforts. Knowledge around the Okta platform and competitor product offerings.
- Competency with security concepts and solutions; knowledge of customer enterprise security software (identity, cloud security, firewalls, SASE, CASB, databases and applications) preferred.
- Previous software development experience.

Below is the annual On Target Compensation (OTE) range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual OTE, which is inclusive of base salary and incentive compensation, will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
