Okta is seeking a highly accomplished and results-oriented Staff Technology Program Manager to join our team, where you will be instrumental in shaping the employee experience and communications strategy for our rapidly expanding India Innovation Center (IIC). This pivotal role demands a leader who can independently drive complex initiatives, significantly influence organizational culture, and deliver programs that have a broad, positive impact across our global enterprise.
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of owning and leading programs from inception to successful execution, demonstrating exceptional autonomy, and navigating ambiguity with confidence. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, an innate ability to foster collaboration, and a deep understanding of how to leverage communication and enablement to drive organizational success.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Architect and Lead Comprehensive Communication Strategies: Independently design, develop, and execute a robust communications framework for the IIC, ensuring high-impact communication of key initiatives, deliverables, and successes to both local and global audiences. This includes owning the publication of regular digests and high-level program publications, showcasing key talent, and orchestrating impactful town halls and all-hands sessions for visiting leadership.
- Drive and Elevate Employee Experience: Take full ownership of fostering a vibrant and cohesive employee experience within the IIC. This entails creating and implementing innovative programs that promote information sharing, team building, and global connections, while also addressing nuanced local needs. You will autonomously facilitate large-scale in-person events (10-400+ attendees) with both technical and non-technical focuses, ensuring seamless execution and maximum engagement.
- Spearhead Onboarding and Enablement Excellence: Lead the design and continuous improvement of new hire onboarding and training programs for the IIC, ensuring a consistent, high-value experience that rapidly integrates new talent and drives their productivity and cultural alignment from day one.
- Proactively Identify and Mitigate Risks: Anticipate potential challenges and roadblocks across your areas of ownership, leveraging deep insights into team goals and broader organizational objectives to develop and implement proactive mitigation strategies, ensuring program continuity and success.
- Cultivate Strategic Partnerships and Influence: Independently build and nurture strong relationships with cross-functional leaders and stakeholders, including Engineering, Product, Design and executive leadership, to drive alignment, secure buy-in, and successfully execute programs even in ambiguous situations or without direct authority.
- Champion Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess the effectiveness of existing communication and employee experience programs, leveraging data and feedback to drive iterative improvements and introduce new, innovative solutions that enhance organizational efficiency and employee satisfaction.
- Demonstrate Thought Leadership: Bring fresh perspectives and creative solutions to complex challenges, continuously exploring new and innovative ways to engage, enable, and inform the IIC and the broader organization.
Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 8+ years of progressive Program Management experience at a technology company, with a significant portion demonstrating leadership of large-scale, complex programs.
- Demonstrated ability to build and foster cultural programs that promote collaboration, empowerment, and a positive work environment.
- Proven experience leading the design and implementation of onboarding experiences that align with organizational goals and enhance employee readiness.
- Proven ability to autonomously lead and deliver outcomes with broad organizational impact, demonstrating a high degree of ownership and accountability.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of tailoring messages effectively to diverse audiences, from individual contributors to C-level executives.
- Deep understanding of SaaS software business models and iterative software development and release processes. Experience in cybersecurity is a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise in planning and executing complex programs that involve multiple teams and stakeholders, navigating interdependencies and driving alignment.
- Strong track record of proactive leadership and initiative, thriving in ambiguous environments and independently identifying and solving problems.
- Superior collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to build consensus and drive results across all levels of the organization without direct authority.
- A highly creative and innovative mindset, with a history of thinking outside the box to develop unique and effective solutions.
