About the position:

Okta is looking for a talented Staff Service Designer (you!) who shares our passion for bringing simple, yet powerful experiences to our customers and partners. ​​As a Staff Service Designer for Okta, you’ll play a crucial role in helping define product capabilities, tools, and programs focused on growing our Independent Software Vendor (ISV) ecosystem. You will join a cross-product and cross-functional team that is executing Okta’s vision to become a two sided platform that connects SaaS builders and SaaS consumers within a secure, interoperable ecosystem. You’ll collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across the organization to define the services and journeys for our partners to build integrations with Okta. In addition, you’ll help bring these ideas to life by working with our marketing and product development teams and drive high quality, user centric outcomes for our customers.

In this role, you will

  • Grow and develop a service design practice to drive a successful ISV ecosystem program
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the company, including Product, Corp Dev, Strategic Partnerships, Product Marketing, and more to define and shape our services and products for ISVs
  • Design and facilitate co-creation design workshops as well as align stakeholders with varying seniority across Okta on developing the best services and artifacts for our customers
  • Represent your work in the form of compelling stories that motivate others to solve complex needs with your insights
  • Solve complex problems, bringing stakeholders together across multiple teams to scope problems and collaborate in ways that nurture a culture of curiosity and learning
  • Craft user-centered artifacts and end-to-end journeys to align teams and advocate for the best experience outcomes for ISVs
  • Collaborate with Okta product development teams to ensure consistency across interface experiences across different user scenarios
  • Challenge teams to think bigger and act smaller, instilling an iterative process and fail forward mentality to design simple and delightful user interfaces for new and existing Okta products.
  • Design mechanisms to build up customer empathy and deep knowledge of our partners, builders, and other identified users
  • Handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently

Who we’re looking for

  • You have experience leading cross-discipline teams and exemplify strong leadership.
  • You have multiple tools to help map out user journeys and end to end experiences.
  • You have a track record of building strong relationships with stakeholders and customers.
  • You are passionate about solving complex problems, crafting and sharing product and design UX principles to help teams deliver cohesive user experiences.
  • You’re comfortable (and excited by!) presenting and working closely with senior level stakeholders and leadership.
  • You have a history of effective communication with all levels of management and company personnel
  • You’re able to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and independently
  • You have effective decision making and problem solving capabilities while working with constraints

Nice to haves

  • Ability to facilitate cross-discipline research to drive clarity and decision making
  • Experience working with ISVs or a Saas company

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, New York, and Washington is between:
$148,000$222,000 USD
The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay area is between:
$166,000$248,000 USD
