The Opportunity

Are you a proactive and innovative Network Engineer with a passion for designing secure, scalable hybrid cloud infrastructures? If so, joining our team at Nutanix will empower you to shape cutting-edge networking solutions that leverage Nutanix-native technologies and advanced security architectures. You'll collaborate with global teams to enhance connectivity across our private and public clouds while driving innovations in segmentation and Zero Trust models. With a focus on being the foremost showcase of our capabilities, your work will directly impact how we build and operate our products, making a difference in the future of hybrid cloud networking.

About the Team

The Network Engineering and Operations team is a globally distributed group of seven engineers located across the US East, US West, Serbia, and Bangalore. Despite spanning multiple time zones, the team maintains a tight‑knit, supportive, and highly collaborative culture. Engineers operate with autonomy, communicate openly, and support one another across operational work, project delivery, and architectural design.

The environment values multi‑vendor thinking, technical curiosity, continuous improvement, and practical problem‑solving. Team members take pride in delivering reliable, secure, and well‑architected network services that support Nutanix’s global business and engineering operations. Accountability, clear communication, and mutual respect are central to how the team works and grows together.

This role is remote (US‑West–centric), with occasional in‑person collaboration based on team needs. Some project phases — including datacenter build‑outs and major infrastructure deployments — require travel, up to 33% depending on project load.

Your Role

  • Implement and enhance network segmentation and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) across global private cloud and enterprise environments.
  • Engineer and operate private cloud fabric‑as‑a‑service, improving delivery speed, reliability, and developer experience for dev/test and production workloads.
  • Deploy and manage Nutanix Flow Security and Flow NG, including microsegmentation, distributed firewalling, and hybrid connectivity capabilities.
  • Own Tier 3 escalations, lead incident response, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements that reduce incident volume and MTTR.
  • Contribute to datacenter network architecture and modernization, including fabric replacement, new datacenter design, and lifecycle processes for segmentation and provisioning.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering with significant exposure to hybrid cloud environments.
  • Strong proficiency in network segmentation, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), and modern security frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Nutanix networking technologies, particularly Flow Security and Flow Network Gateway (NG).
  • Solid understanding of data center networking, private cloud fabric, and multi-vendor infrastructure spanning routing, switching, security, and cloud connectivity.
  • Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and producing high‑quality root cause analysis and preventive actions.
  • Excellent problem‑solving ability, with a track record of working effectively in a globally distributed team.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner across engineering, cloud, and security teams and engage stakeholders clearly and confidently.
