The Opportunity

The Nutanix Core Security engineering team focuses on building secure hybrid cloud platforms. This team is responsible for developing customer facing security functionalities and core platform security services. We own multiple areas that help to improve product security postures and values on AOS (NCI) and Security Central (SC) Platforms. It has been great working closely with both internal X-functional teams and external solution partners in solving complex product security issues. We work closely with PM team to align our security features with NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

Your Role

As a security engineer, you are capable of understanding end-to-end designs that span multiple groups and disciplines. You will be responsible for handling the dev-ops and test automation functions of the team, including:

  • Test automation
  • Tools development
  • Working with project teams to ensure that quality testing and automation are part of the design process.
  • This collaboration will include multiple cross-functional teams viz., PM, UX, System Test, Documentation and other relevant Engineering groups while working on a feature from its inception to release.
  • Creating test plans and procedures that can be automated and provide test coverage.
  • Working with QA engineers across multiple teams to coordinate the testing approach and test coverage.
  • Work with management to define best practices and improvements in development and quality processes.
  • Taking responsibility for meeting quality goals of multiple development branches.

What You Will Bring

  • At minimum, a bachelor's in computer science, computer engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • 3–6 years of professional experience of testing software services, including frontend and backend (full-stack development).
  • Experience in writing unit, functional, integration, performance, and system tests.
  • Experience with or understanding of Golang, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, Shell scripts, Python, GitHub/Gerrit
  • Good understanding of Linux internals, including kernel behavior, memory management, file systems, networking.
  • Good understanding of systems and web (OWASP, OWASP Application Security Verification Standard (ASVS)) security concepts.
  • Good understanding of restful APIs and related test strategies
  • Familiarity with certificate management, authorization and authentication, multi-role RBAC, etc.
  • Familiarity with SE Linux, SALT
  • Familiarity with Linux sub-systems like memory management.
  • Familiarity with virtualization — Avid user of AI tool-based code development, e.g. like Cursor, CoPilot, etc.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
