About the Team

The Datacenter Operations team at Nutanix is dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation and management of our data center facilities. This team operates in multiple locations, including Reno and Durham, and is characterized by a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. The mission of the team is to maintain operational excellence while integrating new technologies into our infrastructure, making it a vital part of Nutanix's overall strategy for growth and customer satisfaction.

You will report to the Sr Manager of Support Readiness, who values proactive communication and fosters an environment where team members are encouraged to take ownership of their work. The role is fully on-site and requires you to work approximately 40-45 hours per week, from Monday to Friday, in a fixed schedule that allows for slight adjustments once established.

This position may involve occasional travel, ranging from 0 to 25% depending on business needs, such as participation in important projects or internal meetings. However, it is expected that travel will generally trend closer to 0% in normal business operations.

Your Role

  • Monitor data center operations and check for emergent alerts through monitoring platforms.
  • Manage and distribute tasks within the site ticket queue, including deployments, break-fix, and inventory audits.
  • Perform rack and stack installations, ensuring proper power and asset management.
  • Lead troubleshooting and in-depth repairs of hardware and hypervisor issues, following documented processes.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with the datacenter capacity team and R&D personnel.
  • Support the onboarding and management of contingent workers on-site.
  • Assess current capacity and operational needs for effective datacenter performance.
  • Work within our Reno site through cabling, monitoring, and team building activities.

What You Will Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in data center operations or related field.
  • Proficient in asset management and infrastructure monitoring systems.
  • Strong coordination skills for managing complex tasks autonomously.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 100 lbs) with assistance.
  • Experience in breaking down site-level requirements to individual tasks.
  • Familiarity with data center tools, office productivity software, and ticket management systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Integrity and strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Work Arrangement

On Site: This role is based on-site, offering the opportunity to collaborate face-to-face with team members in a dynamic and engaging work environment. Being physically present allows for seamless teamwork and direct access to resources that support your success. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 99,200 and USD $ 198,000 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
