The Opportunity

Nutanix is seeking a skilled Legal Operations Manager, eBilling and Outside Counsel Management to join our Legal Operations team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a cross-functional environment and is passionate about building and managing a competitive and efficient outside counsel program. The person in this role will be responsible for the eBilling environment and all related processes, building and maturing our outside counsel program, and developing strategic reporting for senior legal leadership. This role will collaborate across the Legal team and with other functions to drive efficiency and strategic value.

Your Role

Reporting to the Senior Director of Legal Operations, Chief of Staff, you will be a key member of the Legal Operations team with the following primary responsibilities:

  • Own and manage the eBilling environment in Brightflag and all related processes.
  • Build and manage the competitive tender / Request for Proposal (RFP) process for outside counsel engagements.
  • Analyze legal spend data to identify opportunities for alternative fee arrangements and other creative pricing models.
  • Administer, provide training on, and ensure compliance with engagement letters and billing guidelines.
  • Review law firm engagement letters and service provider contracts, escalating exceptions as needed.
  • Collaborate with in-house lawyers to negotiate engagement letters with law firms.
  • Plan and coordinate law firm relationship meetings, including preparing materials and data.
  • Manage the monthly accruals program
  • Provide key spend reporting to Legal leadership and our finance team for budget and spend management.
  • Partner with Legal Operations team to identify and implement AI-driven solutions and use cases that enhance eBilling, spend analytics, and outside counsel management

What You Will Bring

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within a mid-to-large global law firm, or a multinational in-house legal operations team.
  • Practical knowledge of common legal matter lifecycles (e.g., litigation, corporate transactions).
  • Experience with both traditional and innovative law firm fee arrangements.
  • Proven analytical, quantitative, and financial analysis skills with a strong ability to organize and analyze data.
  • Experience managing an eBilling tool. Experience with Brightflag is a plus.
  • Highly effective project and process management skills
  • A growth mindset with a track record of driving process improvements and embracing change
  • Advanced writing, verbal presentation, and data analysis skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures, geographies, and time zones.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI is a plus.

This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, provided that you are within a certain radius of a Nutanix office. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.



Work Arrangement

Remote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.


The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 92,000 and USD $ 184,800 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
