Scientist / Senior Scientist

NextVivo is an ambitious start-up company, located in Stanford Research Park. We are working to leverage the power of the breakthrough technology of human derived immune organoids, invented by our co-founders Mark Davis and Calvin Kuo at Stanford University. We are focused on using this immune-competent organoid platform to develop novel drugs and cell therapies to fight human diseases, including cancer, infectious disease, and autoimmune disorders.

We Are Seeking:

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist / Senior Scientist to perform discovery research to enable cancer immunotherapies with a focus on T-cell populations. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, make intellectual as well as technical contributions, and communicate results effectively with the cross-functional project team. A strong background in T-cell immunology is required.

What You’ll Bring to Our Team:

Experience and Qualifications

  • PhD in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in academia or industry
  • Familiarity with immunological principles and techniques including primary cell isolation and cell culture
  • Experience with the development of primary immune cell-based assays such as cell stimulation, reporter, cytotoxicity, and cytokine release assay
  • Considerable expertise in designing and implementing multi-parameter flow cytometry assays
  • A strong background in T-cell immunology and experience studying gene regulation and function in primary cells is highly desired.
  • Demonstrated record of cutting-edge research as evidenced by first author publication(s) in peer-reviewed, top tier journals
  • Familiarity with tissue imaging techniques
  • Ability to independently analyze data, interpret experimental results, and present key findings
  • Proficiency with FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills to effectively communicate experimental findings to team members
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Highly collaborative mindset with a focus on open and honest communication, trust, credibility, and mutual respect
