As the Communications Content Manager reporting to our Head of Global Communications, you will drive content strategies that showcase the essential impact of Nextdoor across the US and globally. In this role, you’ll collaborate cross-functionally to gather insights, stories, and data, transforming them into compelling narratives that highlight the power of Nextdoor, the incredible real-life neighbor and business stories, and the company’s unique culture. Your creativity and initiative will be key as you source and develop content for various platforms, including media pitches, blog articles, social media, all company meetings, and more.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Content Strategy Development:
- Develop and execute content strategies aligned with the company’s goals and brand voice
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content consistency across all platforms
- Content Creation & Management:
- Oversee the creation, editing, and distribution of high-quality content, including blogs, social media posts, data reports, and more
- Manage and produce audio content
- Manage a content calendar to ensure timely publication of content
- Social media management
- Package engaging content for social channels and manage content posting
- Brand Messaging:
- Ensure all content aligns with the brand’s messaging and tone of voice
- Work closely with PR and marketing teams to maintain a unified brand message
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather insights and develop relevant content
- Serve as a point of contact for content-related inquiries and projects
- Team Leadership:
- Over time develop a team of content creators and communications specialists, providing guidance and feedback
- Mentor junior team members and support their professional development
- Content Optimization:
- Continuously optimize content for better engagement and effectiveness
- Stay updated on industry trends to bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to content creation
- Participate in in-person Nextdoor events, trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and other team building exercises
- Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to the KIND culture that Nextdoor values
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- 5-7 years of communications experience
- Ideal candidate will have also served in a journalism role for several years as well
- Experience producing audio content (i.e. podcasts)
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Vast knowledge of social media platforms, specifically LinkedIn
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms
- Proficiency in SEO best practices and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics)
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in leading and mentoring a team is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
Rewards
Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create one overall rewards package.
The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $110,000 to $140,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.
We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.
Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
