Meet Your Future Neighbors

The Monetization Product team is hiring experienced Product Managers to build ad experiences delivering value to customers and delight to Neighbors. Nextdoor is uniquely positioned where our customers are both our Neighbors and our advertisers. This team's focus is to harness this unique dynamic and create a performant advertising ecosystem.

At the core of the Monetization Product Team’s culture includes:

  • Customer Obsession: We prioritize our users, ensuring our decisions cater to both Neighbors and advertisers for the best platform experience
  • Execution and Delivery: We value progress over perfection, thriving on releasing products that propel us towards our objectives and enhance the platform continually
  • Innovative and Autonomous Thinking: Collaboration is key, but we encourage each other to contribute their unique ideas and take ownership of their respective domains

In this role you will report to the Director, Product Management - Monetization.

The Impact You’ll Make

As the Product Manager for Monetization, Billing & Payments, you will lead a cross-functional team of developers, designers, and program managers, working closely with stakeholders across Information Systems, Accounting, Billing, Ad Operations, and Revenue Operations.

In this role, you will design and build best-in-class Order to Cash revenue systems, including the necessary data infrastructure and reporting to ensure accurate and timely billing. You will develop systems for funding, invoicing, and payments for Nextdoor advertisers, ensuring a scalable and reliable data flow from customer onboarding through billing to final revenue recognition. These systems will seamlessly integrate with Stripe, Salesforce, Workday, and Nextdoor’s internal advertising stack.

Additionally, you will create and implement fraud mitigation solutions for both financial and advertising fraud. You will understand the fraud risks to the business and implement mitigations while maintaining a positive customer experience for advertisers. You will assess whether to develop these tools in-house or partner with third parties, ensuring proactive detection and reactive monitoring systems to protect Nextdoor from bad actors.

This role is critical as Nextdoor builds out its proprietary ad stack and continues to scale its advertising business. Your contributions will directly support Nextdoor's growth by developing robust systems to process payments and safeguard against fraud.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Nextdoor’s order-to-cash revenue and fraud mitigation systems, developing these services from the ground up
  • Understand customer funding and billing needs and build out intuitive customer-facing features. This includes enhancing the management of invoiced campaigns with functionalities such as applying for invoices, ensuring visibility of invoices, managing billing details, and handling legal entities
  • Oversee the payment integrations with Apple and Stripe for our self-service advertising, as well as the opportunity and invoicing integrations with Salesforce and other third-party applications
  • Understand the financial and advertising fraud risks to the business. Develop systems to identify advertising content and fraud, determining whether to build in-house or partner with third-party tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and teams to align on the vision and reconcile all product requirements
  • Manage your products from ideation through execution, and hold yourself accountable to the key metrics you define for your products and domain
  • Contribute to the overall revenue growth of Nextdoor by building robust systems to process payments and protect against fraud

What You’ll Bring To The Team

  • Minimum of 7 years in product management, with some experience in the advertising or media industry
  • Proven experience managing Order to Cash processes, with strong expertise in Salesforce and SOX compliance. Experience with Workday Prism Analytics and Workday Studio is a plus
  • Comfortable diving into technical details and understanding engineering aspects. Familiarity with programming languages and technologies such as GraphQL, REST APIs, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Java are a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to shape and influence the product roadmap while collaborating with multiple stakeholders
  • Innovative mindset with an interest in AI, capable of integrating and championing new features within product lines
  • Ability to reimagine existing processes with a forward-looking approach
  • Strong track record of building products from inception (0->1)
  • You’ll be scrappy and willing to wear multiple hats to ensure product success, even if this means taking on tasks outside traditional product management roles
