Introduction

The Marketing Operations Specialist role will be the lead owner of the marketing systems and processes that support the global marketing team at Optimizely.
For our systems focus, this position will be responsible for maintaining and improving our Marketo and integrated Marketing tech stack & budget. This includes playing an important role in building and implementing a roadmap for our tech stack, including new technology investments. The ideal candidate will also have a keen eye for data and understand how important it is to successful marketing.
From a process perspective, this person will own all documentation related to our marketing systems and processes. The ideal candidate will also work well with stakeholders to properly implement the right changes (software and process) within our organization.
This is a great opportunity to join a growing and fun Marketing Operations team. You will get to work closely with the Manager of Marketing Operations to build a best-in-class Demand Gen engine. We are looking for a candidate who is excited about jumping in and setting the standards across our Marketing team.

Job Responsibilities

Technology Focus:
  • Own the marketing budget & technology stack.
  • Manage integrated marketing technologies including webinar platforms (Zoom), Qualified, 6Sense, and LeanData, UserGems, Zoominfo, LeadIQ, Cognism, and Lusha.
  • Monitor tech integrations from Marketo to ensure uptime.
  • Own account and contact data within our marketing systems and work with cross-functional teams to improve data quality. Responsibilities include setting the standards for Marketo data including cleansing, enrichment, and deduplication.
  • Own our lead lifecycle process (MQL rules).
  • Report on trends and usage of our integrations to and from Marketo.
  • Work with Marketing stakeholders on how to best utilize our integrated technologies.
  • Assist in the creation of marketing systems and process roadmap.
Process Focus:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data quality processes, training, and reference materials.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, assess impact, and manage change when implementing new processes or technologies.
  • Continuously audit and refine existing processes to identify inefficiencies, reduce manual work, and drive operational improvements.
  • Create and maintain process documentation and knowledge-base resources, ensuring teams have a reliable single source of truth for Marketing Operations workflows.
  • Define and monitor process-level KPI’s and SLA’s (e.g., lead response time, data quality thresholds) to measure the health and effectiveness of Marketing Operations processes and initiatives.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 2+ years in a sales/marketing operational role OR 2+ years as an IT business analyst for Marketing.
  • Hands-on experience being an administrator in Marketo.
  • Experience building technical documentation and training programs for sales/marketing.
  • Manage 3rd party technology vendor relationships.
  • CRM experience (Salesforce).
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills.
  • Ability to work with deadlines and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Flexible and focused among competing priorities.
  • Analytical experience relating to ad hoc requests, operational improvement, and business intelligence tools.
