Introduction

Reporting to the Global Head of Tax, and working within a tax team of five, the Tax Compliance and Reporting Manager will be instrumental in managing direct tax compliance and reporting processes across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to international tax regulations and reporting standards. But the role doesn’t end there. In such a dynamic and evolving organisation, there’s plenty of opportunity to interact with and support the business, add value pursuing tax advisory initiatives, and leverage available AI tools and existing systems with AI capabilities to drive tax efficiency and intelligence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Global Direct Tax Compliance and Filings: Oversee global direct tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of corporate income tax filings, disclosures, and statutory submissions in collaboration with external tax advisors, regional finance teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Tax Reporting and Provisioning: With the support of the Global Head of Tax, lead annual global tax reporting and provisioning under IFRS, encompassing deferred tax analysis and the assessment of tax risk positions.
  • Tax Planning Support: Provide support for cross-border tax planning initiatives, intercompany transactions, and intra-group service models, ensuring technical robustness, commercial alignment, and governance-led implementation.
  • Strategic Tax Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to internal business units and leadership on complex tax matters, proactively identifying and communicating tax implications of business decisions, new initiatives, and market developments to support informed strategic planning.
  • Tax Audit Management: Coordinate and manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, focusing on risk mitigation and comprehensive documentation.
  • Internal Controls and Governance: Collaborate with the broader finance and accounting teams to enhance tax-related internal controls, strengthen tax governance, and drive process automation and technological improvements, championing the use of AI.
  • System Optimisation: Maintain and optimise existing tax compliance calendars, workflows, and systems to improve visibility, efficiency, and control.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Professional Certification: ACA, CTA, or an equivalent professional qualification, coupled with a robust foundation in tax accounting.
  • Extensive Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in international tax compliance and reporting, gained either in-house or within a professional practice environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and demonstrated experience in establishing or maintaining global tax compliance frameworks. While we have substantial US presence, US GAAP ASC 740 experience is not a pre-requisite.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and effective communication skills.
  • Tax AI proficient: Capable of effective use of tax AI tools to support tax advisory, compliance, and governance activities, enhancing technical analysis, risk identification, documentation quality, and decision-making.
  • Adaptability: An adaptable and proactive mindset, capable of operating effectively within a high-growth, fast-paced corporate setting.
