Introduction

As a Revenue Accountant at Optimizely, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606. You will collaborate closely with the finance, sales, and legal teams to support the month-end close process, analyze contracts, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday US Hours (8 PM to 4 AM), Hybrid. Please note that you do not have to stay late hours at the office. Our Dhaka office stays open regular hours and you have the flexibility to choose where you work from.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606.
  • Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and reconciliations.
  • Assist with the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations related to revenue.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Legal, FP&A) to resolve revenue-related issues and support business initiatives.
  • Support external audits by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of revenue accounting operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies related to revenue recognition.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles.
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or technology company.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) and revenue automation tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
