Scientific/Research Project Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientific Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the biopharma industry, coupled with a deep understanding of early discovery, preclinical, and early development activities, as well as regulatory workflows. A highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for scientific research and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Have a good understanding around drug discovery/development to know where and how to accelerate timelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external (CRO) stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or issues, implementing corrective and acceleration actions as needed.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members and external partners.
  • Maintain data quality and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Create and manage comprehensive project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in life sciences or a related field; an MS or PhD is preferred.
  • At least 5+ years of project management experience in the biopharma industry.
  • Experience working with and managing CROs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the scientific project workflows relative to discovery and preclinical activities, processing, analysis, results delivery, and communications.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory information systems (LIMS) and associated data infrastructure.
  • Expertise in databases to streamline data collection.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with professionals at all levels, both within and outside the company.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, analyze workflows, and manage time effectively. Can multitask across multiple projects and programs.
  • Strong decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage stakeholders’ expectations.
  • Proven ability to influence internal teams and external service providers to achieve project objectives.
  • Comfortable and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Salary Ranges:

  • Scientific/Research Project Manager: $112,500 to $150,000
  • Senior Scientific/Research Project Manager: $133,500 to $178,000
