As an expert in optical data communication, with mastery of both the analytical and experimental domains, you will lead the test-bed development and optical link characterization for multi- terabit-per-second, massively-parallel fiber-optic interconnects.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Own the system-level characterization and testing of multi-Tbps, LED-based, parallel optical interconnects.
  • Work closely with R&D engineers, vendors, and external partners to develop R&D
  • laboratory stations for parallel optical link measurements.
  • Engage with test equipment vendors, supply-chain partners, and customers to implement effective production-scale system testing and validation.
  • Be a cross-functional team mentor and foster team execution excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Combination of education and experience equivalent to MS Electrical Engineering + 5 years directly relevant experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with high-speed fiber-optic link measurements.
  • Experience designing and building new measurement systems.
  • Solid understanding of optical data communication fundamentals, link modeling, and system impairments.
  • Solid understanding of operating principles of fiber-optic components, electronics,
  • photodiodes and LEDs.
  • Mastery of test automation software development using tools like Labview / Python /
  • Matlab.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, innovative,
  • high-energy environment with challenging schedules and technologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience working in an industrial R&D environment
  • Prior experience acting as test development lead
  • Prior experience bringing products from development to mass production
