Reliability and Characterization Engineer
Mojo Vision
Mojo Vision develops and commercializes high-performance micro-LED technology for enterprise, consumer, and government applications. We combine breakthrough technologies across the full stack of hardware for Micro-LED displays, including GaN Micro-LED, QD color conversion, CMOS Analog and Digital design, integrated optics, and semiconductor process integration at both 200 and 300mm. Mojo Vision is using its leading-edge GaN Micro-LED technology toolkit to drive the disruption of both the emerging Terabit-per-second high-speed data center Visual Light Communication (VLC) market and the $160 billion display industry. Mojo Vision is headquartered in Cupertino, California.
We are seeking an experienced GaN epi & device characterization engineer who can lead us in building a physical model that predicts MTTF for Mojo Vision’s hardware stack. The model will be confirmed with accelerated lifetime testing data and separated by specific failure modes identified in the device. The successful candidate will contribute to a fast-paced development environment in characterization, FA interpretation, accelerated reliability life test specification and development, and reliability model development and confirmation. The position is particularly suited for a researcher who has experience in the development and characterization of GaN epi and device optical structures and prediction of device-level MTTF. The position requires a PhD in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or similar areas. Come show us what you have done and how you approach bringing challenging new technology from demonstration into high-volume manufacturing. We seek someone who can collaborate, teach, learn, and contribute in a team environment where solutions come from collaboration, not individual brilliance. If you have relevant experience, please reach out, and we’d like to learn about your capabilities, interests, and passions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and verify reliability models specific to Mojo Vision technology stack.
- Extend Mojo Vision test and characterization for GaN/Si hybrid integrated uLED hardware stack.
- Collaborate closely with our internal GaN device engineering team to proactively reduce reliability risk at the earliest possible time point.
- Collaborate with FA and characterization resources inside and outside Mojo Vision to quickly and efficiently determine model coefficients by failure mode.
- Jump in where needed. We are a small startup; you must be comfortable wearing multiple hats.
Qualifications:
- PhD or 5+ years’ experience
- Experience with characterization of GaN/Si optical devices, particularly at high power density.
- Solid understanding of device physics and manufacturing processes related to GaN/Si epi and optical device fabrication and integration into systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, innovative, high-energy environment with challenging schedules and technologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to set and keep an aggressive timeline.
