About the role

Zillow Group’s Legal & Compliance contracts review team is looking for an outstanding experienced attorney with a real passion for negotiating contracts who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative and customer-focused environment! We are looking for a candidate to be a key partner and support the procurement, engagement and sourcing business operations and people organizations.

Applicants should demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to build collaborative cross-functional relationships. You should enjoy playing a key role in improving contract-related processes, efficiencies and templates while protecting the company’s interest. The right candidate for this role will take a proactive approach on organization-specific initiatives, help the company grow, and deliver dedicated service to cross-functional clients.

In this role, you will

  • Collaborate closely with attorneys and contracts managers as an individual contributor on the contracts team.

  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor MSAs, SaaS and software agreements; professional services, benefits, recruiting and other commercial contracts, from first draft to signature.

  • Independently partner with internal teams (finance, info security, privacy, compliance) to review contracts and identify risks.

  • Help develop support playbooks, templates, checklists, and occasionally deliver trainings to improve contracting processes.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $136,300.00 - $217,700.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.

In Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont the standard base pay range for this role is $129,500.00 - $206,900.00 annually. The base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.

Who you are

  • 4-6 years as the primary attorney responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, including at least two years’ in-house experience at a technology company.

  • Highly responsive and skilled at managing multiple contracts simultaneously, with strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Exercise good judgment and evaluate risk while considering the larger picture.

  • Apply a solid understanding of contract law.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and clearly articulate legal and business risks in commercial contracts.

  • Proven track record of independently negotiating complex vendor, SaaS, and licensing agreements, including experience with vendors offering generative AI services or features.

  • JD with active state bar admission

  • Operate with independence and accountability in managing contract negotiations and related projects.
