Head of Clinical Operations
About Limbic
Limbic is the leading clinical AI company for mental healthcare and the largest deployment of patient-facing mental health AI in the world. Our technology has supported over half a million patients across the UK and US, helping health systems deliver higher-quality, more accessible, and more efficient care.
We regulated the first AI diagnostic model for adult mental health as a Class IIa medical device. We’ve published in top-tier journals, won major awards, and advise governments and regulators globally on AI safety, medical devices, and the future of clinical agentic systems.
We now want to focus on providing direct-to-patient best in class AI-led care, and are recruiting to staff our exciting and progressive care clinic.
Brief Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary Psychologist to oversee the clinical and operational infrastructure of our AI-first care clinic. You will lead on a ‘Clinical-Technical’ portfolio that includes everything from EHR refinement to clinical protocol design and outcome tracking. This is a ‘Builder’ role: you will be responsible for launching our CMS Access care clinic and scaling our unique clinical methods through an AI-integrated platform. You will work in tandem with our Medical Director to ensure legal compliance while owning the day-to-day clinical operations of the clinic.
This is a 0.6 FTE (3 days per week), remote position.
Core Responsibilities
Protocol & Method Development: Maintain evidence-based clinical protocols, as well as Quality Oversight mechanisms.
Product-Clinical Synergy: Translate clinical needs and safety requirements into engineering tickets for our AI and product development teams.
Oversight & Monitoring: Establish the Clinical Governance framework, including chart review processes, supervision, and incident response protocols.
Outcome & Metric Design: Define and track the success metrics for the clinic, including clinical outcomes and other operational KPIs.
Escalation Pathways: Work with our Medical Director to establish escalation pathways, and own their ongoing maintenance.
Regulatory & Audit Readiness: Serve as the internal lead for all clinical audits, maintaining a gold-standard documentation culture that meets state board and federal Medicare standards.
-
Staff Supervision: Manage a team of clinical and non-clinical staff, and provide supervision to licensed psychotherapists.
Who we need
Clinical Credentials: PhD or PsyD in Psychology. Must have an active license.
Health-Tech Experience: Experience (ideally 3+ years) in a mental health technology or AI startup.
"The Builder" Skillset: Track record of building clinical products from scratch and designing workflows that didn't exist before.
Technical Literacy: Excellent cross collaboration record with technical leaders, for example engineers. You should understand how AI models use clinical data and be comfortable working with technical tickets and data dashboards.
Medicare: Deep understanding of Value-Based Care models, specifically how CMS reimbursement works for behavioral health.
Clinical Operations excellence: Experience monitoring safety and outcomes over time.
AI-First: You have a strong awareness of what AI is, and how it can be used effectively in healthcare. You believe in the value AI can have in supporting patients within the US behavioural healthcare system.
-
Confident Leader: You are confident in your ability to speak in front of groups, deliver presentations, and back up your arguments with data. You are able to multi-task and switch focus between projects, whilst working to tight deadlines.
