We're looking for a highly strategic and operationally focused Director of Business Planning to drive our company's growth and ensure we're executing against our most critical objectives. This role is pivotal in shaping our market presence, optimizing our internal operations, and spearheading key strategic initiatives.
You'll be responsible for overseeing our market entry strategies, particularly in the critical domain of K-12 state adoptions, and for operationalizing our company-wide goals. State Adoption and Market Entry Planning:
- Lead the comprehensive planning and selection process for state adoptions of instructional materials. This involves in-depth analysis of state curriculum frameworks, educational standards, and adoption cycles to identify optimal market opportunities for Kiddom's products.
- Develop and execute detailed strategic plans for entering new state markets, including competitive analysis, identifying top districts to target and recommending ways to win their business..
- Collaborate closely with product, sales, and marketing teams to ensure our offerings align with state requirements and market needs, maximizing our success in winning adoption bids.
- Support the creation of compelling proposals and responses for state and district RFPs, working to tailor Kiddom's value proposition to specific educational contexts.
Company OKR, Operational Review, and Planning:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and tracking of Kiddom's Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), ensuring alignment across all departments and initiatives.
- Coordinate agenda for All-staff meetings and exec offsites
- Establish and lead robust operational review processes to assess performance against OKRs, identify areas for improvement, and drive accountability.
- Facilitate strategic planning sessions, translating company vision into concrete, measurable goals and actionable plans for teams.
- Develop and maintain reporting frameworks to provide clear insights into operational health and progress toward strategic objectives.
Company Planning & Operations Projects:
- Lead and manage other cross-functional projects related to company planning and operations, as assigned by senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in our planning processes and operational workflows, leveraging data and best practices.
What We're Looking For...
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in business planning, strategic operations, management consulting at a top firm, or a similar role, with a strong emphasis on driving company-wide initiatives.
- Demonstrated passion for K-12 educational technology or publishing
- Exceptional research, analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and translate it into clear, actionable plans.
- Passion for conducting deep market research and deriving insights that drive business decision-making.
- Strong project management capabilities, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving business needs.
Salary range is dependent on geographic location, prior experience, seniority, and demonstrated role related ability during the interview process.
