Overview
As a Pre-Sales Solutions Consultant at Eversight, you'll be at the forefront of transforming how the world's leading CPG brands leverage real-time consumer and market intelligence to drive growth. This role is about more than demonstrating software—it's about solving creatively to help CPG prospects reimagine their category strategies, brand performance tracking, and competitive positioning through unprecedented access to Instacart's real purchase data. You'll drive results by converting strategic insights into compelling value propositions and memorable stories derived from our actionable insights within the platform. You'll shape the future of AI-powered consumer insights, category intelligence, and promotional insights / experimentation while growing your expertise at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and real-world CPG business impact. About the Job
- In this role, you'll roll up your sleeves daily to drive presales excellence while putting it all on the table with honest, strategic counsel for prospects and internal partners alike. Your responsibilities include:
- Partner with Sales AEs to develop comprehensive presales strategies for CPG brand prospects, provide strategic input on deal approach and competitive positioning, to achieve quota targets
- Lead discovery sessions with key stakeholders from C-level executives to Category Management, Brand Marketing, Insights, Analytics, and Revenue Growth Management teams, analyzing business requirements and building relationships across prospect organizations
- Customize product demonstrations based on prospect-specific needs, showcasing how Eversight by Instacart delivers actionable insights on innovation, distribution, consumer behavior, and promotional lift, and develop tailored value propositions that resonate with CPG business priorities
- Develop deeper CPG industry expertise specifically around category management, brand strategy, trade promotion optimization, and consumer insights, lead competitive differentiation conversations against traditional syndicated data providers and emerging data platforms, and contribute insights to competitive messaging refinement
- Build preliminary business cases based on customer data and industry benchmarks, demonstrating ROI through improved promotional efficiency, faster speed-to-insight, and enhanced category understanding, presenting findings and solution recommendations with clarity
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to training materials, best practice documentation, and knowledge management systems specifically focused on CPG use cases and CIP capabilities
- Act as Voice of the Customer by synthesizing prospect feedback patterns and contributing consolidated insights to Product team discussions to inform CIP roadmap priorities
- Represent Eversight at CPG-focused industry engagements including attending conferences
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience with significant exposure to SaaS pre-sales activities
- Strong knowledge of the CPG vertical including a deep understanding of Category Management, Brand Performance Analytics, Trade Promotion Management, Consumer Insights, Market Share Analysis, and Revenue Growth Management
- Experience with or strong understanding of syndicated data platforms (Nielsen, IRI, Circana) and how CPG brands use data for decision-making
- Expertise in solution storytelling—translating technical functionality into persuasive business narratives that resonate with CPG brand priorities like market share growth, promotional impact, and competitive intelligence
- Proven presentation and persuasion capabilities with the ability to control an audience, convey complex concepts clearly, and overcome objections particularly around data quality, sample size, and methodology questions common in CPG analytics
- Experience in creating or developing business processes and strategies in a dynamic environment
- Trusted advisor mindset: Balancing honesty and advocacy — telling customers what they need to hear, not just what they want
- Demonstrated ability to lead consultative discovery processes and extract key insights from diverse stakeholders across CPG organizational functions (Insights, Marketing, Sales, Category Management, RGM)
- Ability to travel up to 35%
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience working with CPG brands in an analytics, insights, or data platform role
- Experience working with enterprise SaaS platforms focused on category analytics, consumer insights, pricing, promotions, or revenue optimization
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application to business problems
- Track record of achieving or exceeding quota in a pre-sales or sales engineering role
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Customer Success, and Sales teams
- Understanding of retail media, e-commerce, and overall trends impacting CPG brand strategies
