Overview

Instacart recently acquired Caper AI to help retailers unify the in-store and online shopping experience for customers no matter how they choose to shop. Caper’s cutting-edge, AI-powered shopping carts and automated checkout counters bring together online and offline shopping to create a completely new in-store experience for customers.

In addition to acquiring Caper AI’s technology, we’re delighted to welcome the Caper team to the Instacart family. The global Caper team is based primarily in New York City and Shanghai, China, and will bring new hardware expertise to Instacart’s already deep product and technology team. Together, we’re excited to create new ways for retailers to solve for the ever-changing needs of their businesses and customers.

About the Job

  • Ensures accurate quantities of product were received, and compares appropriate paperwork, and matching product numbers. Questions and resolves discrepancies as required.
  • Enters data product information into the warehouse database for inventory tracking to assure accuracy and completeness.
  • Identifies product shortages/damages from delivery upon receipt of product.
  • Adheres to all safety procedures in the performance of job duties.
  • Testing and qualification of hardware before shipping and after receiving
  • Develop and grow a positive relationship with transportation partners.
  • Ensure proper sourcing of partner carriers and meeting delivery requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Negotiate service and price with clear expectations with transportation partners.
  • Track and trace orders and update internal documents and customers.
  • Monitor on-time delivery appointments and communicate with shippers and consignees.
  • Implement procedures to prevent issues.
  • Perform general clerical duties as assigned, including answering and directing phone calls, filing, data entry.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned.

You have:

  • Strong technical ability to quickly understand technical aspects of our products.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure critical hardware and consumables are being delivered on time.
  • 1+ years of logistics, inventory, or warehouse management

About you

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English (Writing / Reading)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the Logistics/Transportation/Brokerage Industry in Canada / USA.
  • Geographical Expertise including mileage, transit time, and DOT governance.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service to internal and external partners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong telephone skills and etiquette and exceptional customer service skills
  • Efficient computer skills in Excel, Gmail.
  • Knowledge of Inflow Inventory Management is a PLUS
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with data collection and order entry.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Work requires moderate physical effort. While performing duties of this job, employees will regularly sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch. Employees may lift, lower, carry product up to a maximum of 70 pounds by hand. Will regularly operate warehouse equipment that requires manual dexterity requiring some coordinated movements. May require physical effort associated with using the computer enter information.
  • Works in a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job the employee will regularly operate warehouse equipment. Using proper safety procedures will eliminate any potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Compensation

  • Competitive rate
  • This is a contract position.
  • $22-$25/hr, depending on experience.
