We are seeking a US-based (Senior) Medical Science Liaison Manager to support our evidence generation and product launch. Reporting to the Director of Medical Affairs, the candidate’s main responsibility is to serve as the field-based face of Inflammatix’s Clinical Affairs Department in the US, thereby primarily engaging with various stakeholders, e.g., clinical and scientific key opinion leaders in the field of emergency medicine, infectious diseases and sepsis.

The field-based activities include close exchange with these stakeholders to ensure timely dissemination of emerging evidence related to Inflammatix products as well as to gather broad insights from the market. The Medical Science Liaison will also work cross-functionally with internal and field-based roles of the Commercial team and other Clinical Affairs team members to guide product strategy, medical education, and customer interactions, aiming to implement our products into clinical routine.

The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal communication skills necessary to engage with and develop strong, strategic relationships with external stakeholders and organizations including professional societies. The candidate must also have a strong ability to digest complex medical and scientific information, including high-throughput laboratory methods as well as biostatistics, and present them to potential customers and key opinion leaders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Grow and cultivate a strong network of healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, clinical trial investigators, patient and other advocacy groups, and policymakers
  • Develop and maintain the highest scientific and medical expertise in the field of acute infections and sepsis and act as an internal and external subject matter expert for the company
  • Support the development and drive execution of the Medical Plans and strategy for product introduction and expansion
  • Identify, collect, and communicate medical insights related to market and competitors intelligence, research, and clinical practice trends in a timely manner
  • Update and maintain all required databases with current and complete information, including customer interactions, responses to medical information requests and/or unsolicited off-label inquiries or discussions
  • Identify future research opportunities including Investigator Initiated Trials, Real World Evidence, and other evidence-generation studies in close alignment with Marketing and HEOR to drive implementation of products into clinical routine and national guidelines
  • Support of ongoing Investigator Initiated Studies or Inflammatix-sponsored trials in close cooperation with the Clinical Operations department
  • Organize and support regional Advisory Boards to help continuously improve company strategy
  • Attend and represent Inflammatix at national and international conferences and medical educational programs to support operations of the Commercial and Clinical Affairs team with the aim of collecting key learnings
  • Communicate scientific information via presentations and other tools to internal and external Commercial roles, including distributors

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong clinical/science background with an advanced degree in a scientific field of study (PharmD, MD, PhD or advanced/Master’s nursing degree)
  • Minimum 3 years of IVD/ medical device field experience as an MSL (required), preferably in the area of acute care medicine (ED, ICU); alternatively, academic experience in a relevant discipline
  • Microsoft Office experience essential (exposure to scientific databases an advantage)
  • Ideal candidate must have access to a major US airport
  • Travel of >60%, must reside inside US

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong scientific background in immunology and infectious diseases/sepsis preferred
  • Substantial knowledge about the US healthcare system, i.e. hospitals, emergency departments, and intensive care departments along the patient journey through the healthcare setting
  • Knowledge about evidence-generation
  • Existing network of relevant stakeholders in the field of acute care medicine preferred
  • Highly articulate and persuasive presentation capabilities in formal and informal settings; able to convey complex scientific ideas fluently to any audience
  • Proven administrative and organizational skills, e.g., planning and conduct of advisory boards

COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION:

  • Classification: Full-time, exempt

  • The base salary range for this position is $155,000 to $203,000 per year which represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this exempt position.
    • Please note that actual offer will vary based on factors including, but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors including internal equity. As such, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the lower or upper end of the range. Please also note the compensation range listed is just one component of the company’s total rewards package. A bonus and/or long term incentive units may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
    • U.S. employees are offered medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as access to HSA, FSA, commuter, LTD, STD and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in our company 401k plan and employer match. Employees accrue up to 15 paid vacation days, 7 paid sick days and 10 paid holidays per calendar year. Inflammatix U.S. offices are closed for winter break each year between Christmas and New Years Day and the company offers this time as additional paid time off for U.S. salaried/exempt employees.
