The Role:
Imply’s Finance Team is looking to hire a dynamic and driven Commissions Manager, who will own, and assist in the evolution of, our commissions and quarterly bonus plans. This position will also be a key contributor and communicator of the monthly commission life cycle as well as the data related to our quota bearing sales team. Working with the Finance team as well as directly with senior management, this position will own compensation management, deliver related KPI’s, forecast commissions expense, report on sales rep productivity, manage Customer Experience bonus plans, develop recommendations on how to improve rep performance, and serve as a financial advisor to the leadership team on compensation plans overall. This individual will also assist with the preparation of reporting dashboards.
This position is ideal for a proven finance professional. The Commissions Manager must possess a solid knowledge of bookings and other sales operations policies related to commissions and quota credit and have experience using accounting, budgeting, and planning software tools. Experience managing commissions at one or more SaaS companies is required as are strong Excel modeling skills, attention to detail, effective cross-functional communication skills with Sales and other functions, and experience operating in a best-in-class finance organization. This position will be located in the United States and can be remote.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate and manage monthly quota credit and commission payouts for all commission-based employees, including international and domestic employees
- Calculate and manage the quarterly bonus for the Customer Experience team
- Create and distribute all commission and bonus plan documents for all participants
- Liaise with employees to explain payment discrepancies and to answer any other ad hoc questions regarding commission payouts
- Partner with the Sales Operations team to close deals, as it pertains to ARR, bookings, and other ad hoc improvements, as needed
- Collaborate with Deal Desk, Legal, and the field on Proposal review
- Assist with the calculation of other variable compensation / bonus plans, as needed
- Assist with the building of any relevant commissions forecasting models (i.e., validating commission expense) as well as providing all necessary financial KPI information
- Assist the accounting team with the monthly close, including explaining revenue variances, as related to commissions expense
- Work closely with and support Sales Operations strategy team to develop insights on data related to our quota bearing sales personnel
- Evaluate workflow systems, processes, and procedures to develop, recommend and implement changes that improve the accuracy and efficiency of the variable compensation process
- Perform ad hoc financial reports and analysis as needed
- Own and manage quarterly consumption calculation for existing customers
- Help us evolve the function as we grow the company
Requirements:
- BA/BS in finance, accounting, or economics
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience at a SaaS start-up a must; additional experience at other companies desired including experience at larger companies with best-in-class practices
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint as well as Google sheets, documents and slides
- Experience with Salesforce, Adaptive Planning and NetSuite is a plus
- Ability to balance attention to details while managing competing priorities and working with the team to achieve deliverables
- Strong verbal & written communication skills

- Ability to work well with a high level of autonomy and trust
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Experience supporting successful fundraising or completing M&A transactions desired

Individual compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications aligned with Imply’s internal levelings guidelines and benchmarks. The below range encompasses roles with on target earnings. This role is also eligible to participate in Imply’s equity plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
Compensation: $170,000 - $350,000
