As a Senior Power Electronics Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for development of electrical power architectures and components for next-generation supersonic and hypersonic aircraft. This role involves end-to-end ownership of flight hardware and ground support systems while collaborating closely with cross-functional mechanical and electrical engineering teams. You will help bridge the gap between electrical and mechanical disciplines, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to establishing engineering standards and tools across the organization. The position offers a highly hands-on, fast-paced environment focused on rapid prototyping, iterative testing, and solving complex technical challenges that advance hypersonic commercial transport.
Responsibilities
Own the electrical power architecture and components for new vehicle development from concept through implementation and testing.
Design and develop power electronics systems for supersonic and hypersonic aircraft applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional mechanical and electrical engineering teams to architect integrated vehicle power systems.
Support systems providing electrical, fluid, and mechanical power to critical aircraft components.
Serve as a technical bridge between electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.
Design flight hardware as well as required ground support and test equipment.
Evaluate, select, and integrate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom hardware solutions.
Work directly with vendors and suppliers to identify and develop suitable components and systems.
Mentor junior engineers and help establish engineering standards, tools, and best practices across the team.
Support hands-on hardware assembly, integration, troubleshooting, and testing activities.
Participate in rapid prototyping, iterative development, and fast-paced build/test cycles.
Contribute to advancing propulsion and power system capabilities for next-generation hypersonic transport vehicles.
