Hermeus is an aerospace and defense technology company founded to radically accelerate air travel by delivering hypersonic aircraft. The company aims to develop hypersonic aircraft quickly and cost-effectively by integrating hardware-rich, iterative development with modern computing and autonomy. This approach has been validated through design, build, and test of the company’s first combined turbojet-ramjet engine and is now being scaled through its first flight vehicle program, Quarterhorse. Hermeus is also developing Darkhorse — an uncrewed hypersonic aircraft designed to deliver unique asymmetric capabilities to the warfighter.
The Director of IT Infrastructure and Applications is responsible for supervising a team of IT professionals in the management, strategy, and execution of our IT infrastructure including network architecture, internet connectivity, managing user endpoints, cloud services, and our IT applications including ERP, MES, PLM and HRMS. This person and their team work closely with the security organization, which manages network and cybersecurity, to assure we are delivering secure and available services to our end users. This person oversees the entire information technology strategy of our company.

IT Infrastructure

  • Oversee the implementation and operations of technology infrastructure, such as servers, data centers, cloud computing, end user and conference room technologies and telephony
  • Establish and maintain IT infrastructure strategy including standards, policies, and procedures
  • Work closely with business technology partners and operational teams to ensure that strategies for Infrastructure align with corporate business and IT department strategies
  • Responsible for establishing and tracking goals, strategies, and tactics
  • Develop and maintain appropriate IT documentation, including policies.
  • Oversight of IT hardware, software, and services procurement
  • Management of third-party vendors including software licensing and managed service providers
  • Managing user endpoints
  • Managing cloud services
  • Supporting architecture and roadmaps
  • Selecting, deploying, and managing the lifecycle of IT services
  • Working closely and aligned with the security team to deliver IT Networking and VPN solutions.

IT Applications

  • This person will be responsible for the company’s global Applications architecture and business processes. In this capacity, the role will partner with the business in setting strategic and tactical direction to the IT organization that provides business systems for global functions including Sales, Marketing, People, Data, Professional Services, Engineering, Manufacturing, Vehicle Maintenance, Legal, Tax, Finance and other departments.
  • Lead and inspire the application development team to engage with the business and identify new functionality, develop compelling business cases, prioritize projects and develop plans that maximize return on investment for the company.
  • Run business applications for corporate function applications (ERP, CRM – Goto market applications, Sales, People, PS, Customer care, etc.)
  • Remove obstacles, close gaps and manage and mitigate risks to ensure delivery on time, on budget and with impeccable quality.
  • Define multi-year investment roadmap in alignment with IT cost models that delivers tangible/bottom line business value.
  • Lead a team managing all aspects of applications implementation and delivery across multiple functions, business units and business lines. Manage the Technical Directors and provide guidance as they lead their teams and set prioritization.

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
