Job Description
The Pathology Genomic Science Liaison (PGSL), Oncology provides expert scientific and technical support to educate both academic and community pathologists about Guardant Health’s tissue testing solutions. This includes sharing the latest clinical data and helping interpret real-world test results.
The PGSL acts as a bridge between Medical Affairs and the Commercial team, building strong partnerships with local and regional pathology groups. They promote understanding of tissue testing, molecular profiling, and liquid biopsy.
This role plays a key part in improving patient care by being proactive, collaborative, and curious. The PGSL also helps make internal processes in Medical Affairs more efficient.
The position reports to a Field Medical Director, is fully remote and virtual. However, the candidate will be expected to have regular business hours and participate in an “on call” rotation with the larger Genomic Science Liaison team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical, scientific and technical expertise to ensure professional and credible relationships with key community and academics pathologists to promote understanding and utility of our novel diagnostic technologies, via virtual engagements
- Be a resource for community pathologists to evaluate and provide guidance on interpretation of real-world patient test reports.
- Facilitate educational growth and understanding through the presentation of scientific content to Pathologists and their staff, via virtual technologies.
- Facilitate medical and scientific discussions to elicit feedback on current and future products and share with our internal commercial and research divisions.
- Attend regional and national conferences, if necessary.
Qualifications
- Requires a university degree and typically 8 years of related experience; 6 years and a Master’s degree; 3 years and a PhD; or PharmD/MD. Terminal degree in a scientific field of study (Genetic Counselor, NP/PA, Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or academic equivalent such as Associate Professor position).
- Experience working with pathologists to build consensus around new products and/or services
- Track record of independent presentation at major academic centers or within the community setting
- Prior experience in the introduction of a novel new clinical product is highly desired

- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, and other software skills; Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining a strong teamwork ethic
- Multi-dimensional in abilities to work on simultaneous tasks, work cross-team and at different levels of the organization, whether internal or external relationships to the organization
- Self-directed, intrinsically motivated, flexible to changes in an ever-changing dynamic environment

Work Environment:
- Minimum travel will be required as this is a virtual and remote position. However, Travel is estimated to be approximately 10-15%
- Office may be home-based, and involves extensive use of computer and keyboard while in home office

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $180,200 to $247,800. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
