Job Description

The Material Handler II is responsible for assisting the various laboratories, maintaining the right levels of inventory, and acting as a backup for Facilities management support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for receiving and processing incoming material, securely and safely storing temperature-sensitive materials, issuing material to work orders and other uses, ensuring that all necessary transactions are completed in the ERP system, performing cycle counts, analyzing inventory discrepancies and other duties such as assigned

  • Experience in receiving, stockroom, shipping, material handling and inventory analysis roles. Experience in a rapid-growth life science environment working with temperature-sensitive materials is a plus

  • Must be able to create and maintain Excel skills on a need basis

  • Experience in implementing, executing, and improving cycle count programs, 2 bin systems

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with ordering supplies

  • Enter Data into the ERP system - Cycle Count Module, Receiving parts, Shipping parts, RMA returns. Fill out the commercial invoice

  • Track Freight With various Carriers on a need basis

  • Use Hand Trucks, Pallet Jacks, and Scales safely and effectively

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma OR 10 years of relevant experience

  • Forklift Certification preferred, not required

  • California Drivers License as Required

  • Previous work experience in a lab preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Efficient in written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible with tasks and schedules

  • Ability to work independently in a team environment

Additional Information

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the hourly range for this full-time position is $23.65 to $32.52 The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
