Job Description

Guardant Health is seeking a strategic Associate Director of Sales Analytics to serve as a thought partner to senior commercial leadership within our Screening Business Unit. This individual contributor role offers a unique opportunity to shape and scale a world-class analytics capability that fuels commercial innovation and drives go-to-market strategy.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you will serve as a strategic advisor and analytics lead for sales leadership, marketing, and executive stakeholders, including the CEO. As a senior individual contributor, you will be responsible for building and scaling the strategic analytics function for a rapidly growing field force targeting primary care and key accounts.

You will drive revenue growth through field efficiency and opportunity targeting, while also reducing cost through segmentation, incentive optimization, and smarter commercial investments. Beyond day-to-day analytics, you will help identify white space opportunities, guide launch readiness, and improve how analytics is embedded across the commercial organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Influence

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Sales Leadership and the C-suite, delivering insights that shape sales strategy, market execution, and resource allocation.
  • Lead strategic initiatives such as go-to-market optimization, white space analysis, and account prioritization frameworks for new product launches and business expansion
  • Develop compelling business cases for investment, field expansion, and innovative commercial models using data-driven simulations and scenario planning.
  • Drive commercial impact by identifying untapped revenue opportunities, proactively flagging performance risks, and informing more precise resource allocation
  • Lead change management efforts to embed analytics in business reviews, commercial planning, and field workflows.

Advanced Analytics & Insights Generation

  • Design and deploy scalable predictive and prescriptive analytics models that drive customer segmentation, omnichannel engagement strategies, and territory design optimization.
  • Develop account-based analytics frameworks that empower key account teams to target high-value opportunities and measure engagement effectiveness.
  • Evaluate sales rep engagement patterns to identify and scale high-impact behaviors, enabling consistent execution across the field team
  • Integrate field feedback and qualitative insights into analytic models to ensure strategy remains grounded in on-the-ground dynamics

Commercial Enablement & Field Strategy

  • Partner with Sales and Sales Ops to shape incentive compensation design, quota setting, and territory planning in alignment with broader business goals.
  • Support launch planning through market opportunity analysis, KPI development, and early performance tracking for new product or territory expansions
  • Create forward-looking performance dashboards and strategic KPIs that drive accountability, align teams to strategic priorities, and support agile decision-making.
  • Drive adoption of analytics across commercial teams by developing training, enablement, and communication strategies that promote data-driven decision-making

Market Dynamics & Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor competitive activity, payer dynamics, and emerging trends to inform proactive commercial strategy.
  • Build dynamic models to simulate market changes and their potential impact on Guardant’s performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Data Stewardship

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales Operations, Market Access, and IT to ensure seamless integration of analytics into broader commercial strategies.
  • Champion data integrity, governance, and ethical analytics practices to ensure trustworthy and actionable insights across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of experience in sales analytics, commercial insights, or strategy roles within life sciences, healthcare, or adjacent industries.
  • Deep expertise in advanced analytics tools and techniques, including SQL, R/Python, and Tableau/Power BI.
  • Proven track record of influencing strategic decisions and driving measurable business outcomes through analytics.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated success engaging executive leadership.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS, MPH, etc.) in a relevant field.
  • Experience in biopharma, diagnostics, or precision medicine.
  • Background in management consulting, commercial strategy, or go-to-market design.

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $153,000 to $195,000. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 to $230,000. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
