Meet the team:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Automotive Electronics Validation Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing functional testers and executing validation tests to ensure the long-term reliability of automotive electronic components and systems. You will collaborate cross-functionally with systems, design, manufacturing, and quality teams to support and execute validation test plans and drive continuous improvements in product robustness.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop automated validation test setup for automotive ECUs to ensure test repeatability and traceability
- Build test harness, procure test equipment, and write test scripts to implement validation tests
- Track test schedules, manage in-house validation tests, provide on-site support for external lab testing
- Analyze, synthesize, and report test results to support engineering decisions
- Investigate and resolve validation issues, including root cause analysis, debugging, and mitigation plans
- Collaborate with systems and hardware design teams to drive continuous improvement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical/electronics engineering, computer engineering, or Mechatronics is required.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in automotive electrical hardware testing or embedded systems testing (automotive or related industries preferred)
- Hands-on experience with wiring harness builds, DAQ, and loadbox integration
- Familiarity with Linux scripting, Python or C language
- Familiarity with automation testing tools like NI TestStand, Vector VIO
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and associated tools
- Experience with connected vehicle and wireless technologies (NFC, UWB, WiFi, Cellular)
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California is expected in the range below.
$150,000-$190,000 USD plus stock options, commensurate with experience.
