Sr. Professional Services Practice Manager

An overview of this role

As a Senior Professional Service Practice Manager, you will “own” a set of PS services across the services lifecycle and you act as the “mini-CEO” of those services from inception through end of life. You will have to work cross-functionally with many different GitLab stakeholders, from product development and professional services engineers to senior executives, and you will work across the entire spectrum of services enablement, from Professional Service, enablement, partners, sales, account management, accounting/finance, and revenue management/recognition. Ultimately, you will be responsible for the Profit and Loss performance of the services you are managing.

What you’ll do

  • Lead efforts to discover market opportunity for new offerings

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of market data

  • Create and prioritize backlog to build / update family of offerings aligned with strategic vision

  • Build sales collateral, scoping guidelines, project plans, and delivery kits

  • Lead efforts to create and maintain selling and delivery enablement

  • Create accompanying marketing material (internal and external)

  • Create service offerings that accelerate adoption of multiple stages of the GitLab platform, not specific to customer geo, segment or vertical

  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Fulfillment, Sales Operations and Customer Success/Sales leadership to create new go-to-market motions that align with both overall company vision and PS strategy.

  • Own and launch internal and external marketing campaigns (e.g. blog posts, videos, webinars, internal enablement, presentation on worldwide field calls, roadshow at regional leader calls, etc.) about new or improved offerings

What you’ll bring

  • You will bring along your experience-based DevOps and DevSecOps expertise

  • You know what CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, DevOps, DevSecOps, mean and have opinions about those terms

  • You have prior technical experience and know how developers work and understand the challenges large scale development effort entail

  • You have prior experience as a Product Manager, Practice Manager or in a related Customer Success role

  • Experience managing, leading, and/or delivering professional services

  • Proven ability to communicate and collaborate cross functionally to develop strategies, execute on initiatives, measure results, and iterate on existing processes

  • Highly motivated to learn new technologies and processes and share those learnings with team members.

  • Understanding of how to position Professional Services against an 800 pound competing gorilla

About the team

Practice Management is a small, relatively new team that is part of our larger Professional Services organization. As part of Practice Management, you will be at the forefront of defining and enabling services within our PS organization as well as enabling our partner network. This is a ground floor opportunity with lots of hands-on work, lots of iteration, experimentation - and all the fun that comes along with it.

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.

$82,800$159,700 USD
California/New York/New Jersey pay range
$82,800$177,400 USD
