POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Product Marketing and Management will play a key role in defining and delivering Genalyte’s diagnostic products and technology solutions. This role will serve as the bridge between customers, engineering, operations, and commercial teams to ensure that Genalyte’s products meet market needs and align with the company’s strategic goals. The Product Manager will own the product lifecycle, including from concept to commercialization and translating customer insights and business requirements into actionable plans. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with technical understanding and has a strong track record of successfully managing complex products in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute product roadmaps that align with Genalyte’s business strategy and customer needs

  • Understand market segmentation, and develop phased go-to-market strategies

  • Gather and analyze customer feedback, market data, and clinical insights to define product requirements and prioritize features

  • Develop business models and work with finance to generate pro forma financial models

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Systems Integration, and Operations teams to translate product concepts into functional, manufacturable solutions

  • Serve as the voice of the customer throughout the product development process, ensuring usability and value alignment

  • Define success metrics for products and monitor post-launch performance to drive continuous improvement

  • Support regulatory, quality, and documentation processes to ensure compliance with FDA, and other relevant standards

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to manage timelines, deliverables, and communication throughout the product lifecycle

  • Evaluate competitive products and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to strategic planning and product portfolio management activities

  • Facilitate product-related training for internal teams, ensuring alignment on positioning and value proposition

  • Support business case development, pricing strategy, and financial modeling for new products and updates

  • Participate in key customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events to represent Genalyte’s products and gather market intelligence


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Prior experience in medical devices, diagnostics (IVD), or healthcare technology in a regulated environment required

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced technical degree preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in product management or related roles, preferably within diagnostics, medical devices, or healthcare technology

  • Strong understanding of product development processes in FDA regulated environments

  • Proven ability to drive projects from concept through commercialization

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to synthesize technical and business inputs into clear, actionable product strategies

  • Experience with customer research, market analysis, and competitive landscape evaluation

  • Passion for improving patient outcomes through innovation in diagnostic testing and healthcare delivery


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Minimal; occasional travel for industry conferences, or partner meetings (<10%).


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a primarily office-based role in San Diego, CA. Occasional visits to laboratory and engineering environments may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


COMPENSATION

The base salary range for this role is $180,000 - $230,000 a year. Individual pay may vary based on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base salary, this role includes meaningful equity participation, eligibility for the annual target bonus plan, and a comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, and flexible time off policy).
