Health Moves Forward [CEO Blog Post]
As an early member of our world class finance team, you’ll have a significant role in rebuilding our country’s most important and most broken industry from first principles. You’ll be responsible for helping to drive implementation and maintenance of key accounting policies (e.g., revenue recognition, procurement, payroll, lease accounting) while working to streamline and scale Forward’s accounting operations. Are you a builder? Want to do more than just the debits and credits? If yes, then this is the role for you.

You Will:

  • Identify and optimize current accounting policies to ensure timeliness and accuracy
  • Develop and document key accounting policies for the company
  • Be a key player in the month-end and year-end close process
  • Be a key player in preparing for a first year audit
  • Own accounting processes, including but not limited to AP, AR, and payroll
  • Prepare bank reconciliation and other account reconciliations
  • Assist in selecting and onboarding Finance and Accounting tools to assist in reporting, payroll, order to cash, procure to pay, and more
  • Perform reviews to guarantee accuracy and compliance with GAAP and ensure we are ready for our first-year external audit
  • Work on ad-hoc accounting and finance projects

You Are:

  • Impact-Driven - You’re deeply mission-driven, and you think there’s more to life than software that enables puppy ears to be superimposed in photos. (Although we concede those are cute.)
  • A Problem Solver - You love breaking down highly complex problems into their easily explainable building blocks.
  • Detail-Oriented - You have exceptional organizational skills and enjoy diving into operational processes.
  • Scrappy - You’re a hustler who will get your hands dirty and protect your builders at every turn.
  • A leader - You’re kind, collaborative and humble. Teams want to be in the trenches with you, and to build something great by your side.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA/CA
  • Audit Experience
  • 3-6 years of experience in accounting functions
  • Proficiency in NetSuite (or similar ERPs) and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public accounting experience
  • Familiar with Coupa, Bill.com, Expensify and/or similar tools
  • Collaborative style and ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Proven ability to execute, drive and optimize complex operational initiatives
  • Enthusiastic, upbeat, and positive with the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with changing priorities
