POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineering Intern to support project engineering and information management initiatives. The intern will work closely with project engineers and project managers to evaluate technical documentation, improve information workflows, and contribute to the development of standardized processes that enhance consistency and traceability across projects.
This role provides hands-on exposure to project systems and technical workflows, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and documentation initiatives in a collaborative engineering environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate engineering documentation and revision history to determine document status (current, superseded, or obsolete) based on technical and project context
- Collaborate with project engineers and project managers to define, document, and improve processes and procedures related to technical data and information workflows
- Assist in developing standardized project procedures, work instructions, and templates that improve consistency, traceability, and quality
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks in existing information flows and recommend process improvement opportunities
- Support integration of project documentation and technical data into enterprise systems (e.g., SharePoint, EDMS, or other project platforms)
- Contribute to documentation initiatives that enhance project information management and operational efficiency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of study in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar technical discipline) by the start of the internship
- Candidates with both an MBA and an Engineering degree (completed or in progress) are a plus.
- Ability to understand and evaluate technical engineering information and project deliverables
- Strong interest in project systems, technical workflows, and process improvement
- Experience or coursework in project management, systems engineering, or quality management is a plus
- Advanced attention to detail with analytical and systemic thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and structured data analysis
- Experience with document management systems or project information systems is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document processes and procedures
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate with technical stakeholders

COMPENSATION:
The hourly range for this internship is $25.00 - $30.00.
