We usually respond within three days

Flow Neuroscience has developed a new, highly scalable depression treatment that has the potential to completely change the way the world treats mental health.

Our headset is already being used by the NHS, over 200 private clinics and 25k users.

The data from these users, our own clinical trial, and extensive research in the scientific literature indicates that 57% of people that use Flow will be depression-free, and over two thirds will have an improvement in their symptoms.

We’re backed by leading VCs (Khosla Ventures) and have raised over $20m to date.

About the role

We are looking for a data-driven developer to join the growth team at Flow.

This position will be the founding developer on this new team, working alongside the Head of D2C to drive growth across the consumer business.

This work will go where it makes the most business sense - it will start with optimisation journeys through the website and building acquisition tools, but could stretch to building predictive models for marketing acquisition or creating the foundations for strong SEO.

The first goal of the team is to drive significant improvements in conversion rate. Every improvement we make translates to thousands of new people getting access to a life-changing depression treatment.

You will:

  • Work in the growth team to improve conversion and value of users we acquire.

  • Base everything you do on the latest evidence, learning fast and often.

  • Work with a continuous discovery mindset.

  • Rigorously test every idea, testing assumptions through data, jumping on a user testing call with the product lead if it’s helpful.

About you

  • 3+ years experience as a software engineer

  • As motivated by the business impact as by the engineering. It's part of the developer’s role to challenge when they feel like the work won’t impact the user experience and continually improve the data and testing setup

  • Great product sense - an ability to have strong opinions on what the team should do to move the conversion goal.

  • Experience of building and shipping software, probably in a small team in a startup environment - change is exciting and not daunting to you.

  • Growth mindset - you’re resilient, transparent when you make mistakes and eager to learn and grow. No one has all the answers and we’ll work together to figure it out.

  • Extensive frontend JavaScript experience

Requirements:

  • Must haves:
    • HTML, JavaScript, Python

  • Nice to haves:
    • Django

    • Wagtail

    • TailwindCSS

    • Experience with DevOps

  • Experience analysing data to spot user behaviour trends

  • Performance marketing data experience

  • Additional info about the stack:
    • Amplitude for FE product analytics

    • VWO for AB testing

    • Google analytics 4 for marketing channel tracking

    • A key part of the role will be to add to this and improve it

What we can offer

  • Flexible working hours - we measure performance based on delivery, not on facetime

  • Remote/hybrid working - ideally coming into the office in London 1 day a week

  • Be part of a high growth start up at its early stage

  • Share options in Flow

Application process:

  • Intro call with Laura (Head of D2C, non technical) - 30 mins

  • Interview with Conor (Product) - 1 hour

  • Technical task with our CTO and co-founder Erik - Complete at home, 1 hour call to share

  • Final interview with Sam, Chief Growth Officer - 30 mins
