About this role

We’re looking for an experienced Fraud Strategy Lead to help shape the strategies that protect the integrity of our community of brands and retailers. In this role, you’ll own end-to-end management of strategic fraud initiatives, translate company goals into team priorities, and act as a domain expert across the organization.

As a senior member of the Risk org’s Fraud & Abuse team, you’ll partner closely with leaders across Data Science, Engineering, Product, Legal and CX to advance fraud capabilities and deliver data-backed strategies that enable Faire to innovate while keeping our customers safe. You’ll spend most of your time on strategic work while mentoring others and elevating team performance.

This is an ideal role for someone who wants to operate as a recognized subject matter expert in fraud and risk, drive meaningful change to systems and policy, and influence how Faire thinks about fraud strategy.

What you’ll do

  • Own end-to-end management of strategic fraud and abuse initiatives, translating company goals into team priorities and actionable plans that advance Faire’s fraud capabilities
  • Drive process and systems improvements across the Fraud & Abuse function with measurable business and customer impact, autonomously resolving ambiguous, open-ended problems
  • Serve as a recognized subject matter expert and go-to partner for complex fraud investigations and escalations across the company
  • Partner with Data Science, Engineering, and Product to shape evolution of fraud tools, models, and features, using data-driven hypotheses to size opportunities and support proposals
  • Design clear and effective documentation on strategic projects and initiatives; navigate multiple projects and competing priorities while ensuring stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables drive business impact
  • Track north star fraud metrics, construct compelling narratives around their trajectory, and proactively diagnose and address deviations from goal
  • Mentor and coach more junior team members, offering candid feedback delivered with empathy to help others learn and grow

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in fraud, risk, trust & safety, or a related analytical field, including demonstrated ownership of strategic initiatives
  • Deep fraud and risk acumen, with a track record of refining fraud capabilities and aligning them to company strategy
  • Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency with data tools and risk data infrastructure (SQL required); able to develop data-driven hypotheses and use data to size opportunities and support proposals
  • Demonstrated experience independently driving near-term priorities for a focus area, reframing problems from multiple angles to identify root causes and prioritize the right solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to the audience and present clearly, concisely, and at the right altitude, including with senior stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage end-to-end project execution across multiple workstreams, including dependencies, stakeholders, and risks

Salary Range

San Francisco: the pay range for this role is $144,000 to $198,000 per year.

This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
