POSITION SUMMARY
eGenesis is seeking a Research Associate II/Senior Research Associate to join the Process Development team and contribute to projects in andrology, embryology and cell culture. In this role, you will have the opportunity to get hands-on training from experts in these areas. Daily activities include execution of experiments, recording of data into electronic notebooks, and collaborating with other members of the Process Development team. By improving the pig production process, we contribute to the xenotransplantation program of eGenesis.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle semen samples and perform semen freezing and QC
  • Handle and process mammalian oocytes and embryos with high precision
  • Assist with cell culture activities (deriving new cell lines from tissue samples, cell culture, cell freezing/thawing, etc.)
  • Prepare and manage culture media and other solutions to support semen processing,embryo production, cell culture and other experiments
  • Record and document scientific data (including analytical test methods, SOPs, etc.) into electronic notebooks
  • Manage and operate a variety of laboratory equipment, including various types of microscopes, incubators, BSL-2 laminar flow hood, pH meter, osmometer, etc.
  • Adhere to guidelines for personnel and laboratory safety and environmental protection

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/MS degree in animal science, biology, or a related discipline with 1-3 years of experience at an academia or industry setting
  • Experience with andrology (semen collection, morphology analysis and semen freezing/thawing) and embryology (oocyte manipulation)
  • Experience with primary cell derivation from tissues and general aseptic cell culture techniques is desirable
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently in a result-oriented, dynamic environment
  • Willing to collaborate and contribute to team goals
