POSITION SUMMARY
eGenesis is seeking a Laboratory Operations Coordinator on the Operations team to support a range of operational responsibilities in our Greater Madison Area office. In this position, you will be responsible for inventory management, shipping and receiving, utility maintenance, and communicating with building management and service providers. You will use strong organization and communication skills to ensure the facility is fully operational and minimize downtime of any systems or equipment. In this role, you will learn and develop under the supervision of the Operations leads.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Site Environmental, Health & Safety coordinator in partnership with safety consultants
  • Organize the removal of regulated waste
  • Maintain key equipment according to a maintenance schedule and keep accurate records of that maintenance and enter data into the CMMS when applicable
  • Ship and Receive packages and deliver to the appropriate location within the facility
  • Perform inventory management including monitoring multiple stock areas and placing supply orders in procurement system
  • Respond to alarm calls and other urgent matters (including off-hours support and response)
  • Write and follow cGMP SOP’s for operations associated tasks when necessary
  • Actively work with operations team members at our other sites in Wisconsin, Indiana and Massachusetts to minimize downtime and technical and safety gaps
  • Embrace continuous laboratory improvement
  • Partner with Process Development and Donor Production teams to advance our science

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and systems
  • Understanding or ability to learn and understand safety regulations/requirements/standards for working in a laboratory environment with chemicals, gases, and other hazards
  • Capable of coordinating Facilities issues and responding from offsite via phone, email or other electronic communication methods
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as business needs dictate
  • Prior exposure to a research laboratory and safe laboratory practices
  • DOT, IATA, or other relevant trainings desirable but not required. Must be willing and able to take required trainings for shipping and waste management
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, shift a minimum 50lb
