POSITION SUMMARY
eGenesis is seeking an Associate Director of Facilities Operations to join the Operations team. In this role, you will lead all facilities operations at our Wisconsin site and work closely with site leadership to identify and implement immediate and future needs for the facilities, grounds, equipment, and utilities. As the Associate Director of Facilities, you will be responsible for prioritizing and executing facilities projects in our office, lab, and farm space in addition to ensuring all preventative maintenance at the site, including equipment maintenance, is complete. The eGenesis Operations team is recognized for a positive customer-focused mindset that engages broadly across our business. You will be expected to manage and develop the farm operations staff and lead by example with positivity, a strong customer-focused mentality, and a high attention to detail. You will be expected to maintain our animal facilities in compliance with USDA and FDA guidelines and comply with all biosecurity protocols. The nature of this facilities operations role does re quire flexibility to respond to urgent needs on weekends and holidays.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in identification & planning of all major capital repairs, routine repairs, and assure preventative maintenance programs are executed
  • Participate in the development of annual operating goals, human resource needs, and farm operational plans including review of costs and performance
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, beneficial relationships with vendors and other support service functions within the company
  • Manage and develop highly effective, engaged facilities operations team in coordination with others across all eGenesis facilities
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, on-boarding and development of new team members
  • Create and maintain a professional working environment with all farm staff and contribute to training and development of team
  • Establish and maintain open communication with eGenesis leadership based in Massachusetts and other sites as needed
  • Plan & lead efforts to maintain cleanliness and biosecurity of facilities and grounds
  • Coordinate with SME’s to ensure best animal welfare practices in compliance with USDA, IACUC and OLAW guidelines
  • Maintain equipment and facilities timely and appropriately and keep accurate and up to date maintenance logs and repair documentation
  • Reinforce farm operations are functioning in an environmentally responsible way and practicing approved land and nutrient management techniques and act as a company steward of land resources
  • Participate in site safety committee, create a safe working environment, and report all accidents/near misses
  • Be flexible and able to work weekends and holidays

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of directly related facilities experience is required
  • Familiarity with farm operations and experience with farm work, heavy equipment and hand and power tools
  • Positive, customer focused and goal oriented attitude
  • Organization, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
Physical Demands and Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in farm, shop, office, laboratory, and animal husbandry environments in varying weather conditions. The employee frequently is required to be walking, stooping, climbing, crouching, sitting on equipment for extended periods of time, and operate heavy equipment. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee frequently is required to use and operate equipment within the daily routine. The employee will be required to handle and work with large animals.
