Decoding The Role:
The Associate Director of End User Services & Infrastructure plays a pivotal leadership role in shaping the digital workplace experience and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of enterprise IT operations for Editas Medicine. This leader works closely with the Head of IT and cross‑functional stakeholders to advance key technology initiatives, enhance end‑user productivity, and deliver a modern, efficient, and resilient IT environment. This dynamic leader will manage outsourced IT services via Managed Service Providers (MSPs), optimize end-user services, enhance internal systems support, and oversee Editas’ network and infrastructure. This position drives and delivers on the Head of IT’s strategy and vision with hands‑on operational oversight, guiding both internal teams and managed service providers to deliver exceptional service across a global organization in a fast-moving, high-growth biotechnology environment. As the Associate Director, End User Services and Infrastructure, you will oversee:
IT Service Delivery & Leadership
- Support the Head of IT in driving the IT vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap by ensuring alignment with business priorities and organizational growth, managing end-user services, supporting internal systems, and providing network and infrastructure oversight while driving operational efficiency and innovation.
- Provide IT direction for digital workplace services, end user support, and core infrastructure functions.
- Contribute to IT budget planning and management, ensuring financial stewardship, cost optimization, and alignment with long term organizational goals.
- Build strong partnerships with business leaders to ensure IT services and solutions meet evolving organizational needs.
Digital Workplace & Business Solutions
- Lead and direct Managed Service Provider (MSP) operations, including global end user support, 24x7x365 service desk operations, onsite support, remote services, and service deployment.
- Mentor and guide IT personnel, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and high performance while ensuring MSPs deliver exceptional service and quality to end users.
- Manage IT infrastructure planning and execution, including support models, conference room technology, and hardware/software procurement.
- Define and implement hardware standards for laptops, lab desktops (R&D and GxP), mobile devices, and conference room systems to ensure a consistent, high quality end-user experience.
- Drive enterprise application deliverables, partnering with business stakeholders to identify needs and implement solutions that enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure seamless integration and interoperability across business systems.
- Manage corporate collaboration platforms, business intelligence tools, and reporting systems.
IT Infrastructure & Operations
- Support the Head of IT in driving the enterprise-wide infrastructure roadmap, including global network operations, cloud services, security, and data architecture, ensuring scalability, resilience, and optimal performance.
- Assist with cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure), network operations, and account/security administration.
- Provide field support for remote users, ensuring secure and reliable access to company systems.
- Lead employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring compliance with security and access policies.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of IT service management processes, including incident management, change control, and asset management.
- Manage IT support for laboratory environments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and operational best practices.
- Develop, implement, and maintain IT policies, procedures, and plans related to data centers, desktops, infrastructure, and security while ensuring they are aligned with industry standards and in compliance with SOX, FDA, and GxP requirements.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Implement vendor management practices that strengthen partnerships, optimize performance, and enhance IT capabilities while ensuring cost management.
- Participate in contract negotiations, service level agreements (SLAs), and managed service engagements with IT vendors.
- Continuously evaluate and optimize vendor solutions to ensure cost effectiveness, scalability, and alignment with organizational needs.

The Ideal Transcript:
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, preferably within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries, with a proven ability to manage complex IT functions in a highly regulated environment.
- Extensive experience with IT infrastructure (Meraki), cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and enterprise applications (M365, Okta, Freshservice, Zoom).
- Strong knowledge of IT governance, compliance frameworks (SOX, GxP, NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR), and risk management principles.
- Proven track record of managing IT operations, service delivery, and vendor relationships.
- Experience managing IT for lab and remote work environments.
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Travel as required to Editas facilities and vendor locations.

Salary Range:
$175,000 - $205,000

The final salary offer will be determined based on a comprehensive assessment of the candidate's qualifications, including education, training, and relevant experience.
