At Editas Medicine, we are pioneering the possible. Our mission and commitment is to translate the power and potential of the CRISPR/Cas12a and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing systems into a robust pipeline of medicines for people living with serious diseases around the world. Our goal is to discover, develop, manufacture, and commercialize transformative, durable, precision genomic medicines for a broad class of diseases.

Why Choose Editas?

At Editas Medicine, we’re a team of courageous problem solvers, harnessing the power and potential of CRISPR gene editing to transform the future of medicine. Driven by a shared purpose to serve people living with serious diseases, we succeed together through collaboration, mutual respect, and innovation. If you want to be part of a team where your voice is heard and respected, where you can operate at the forefront of gene editing, and push the boundaries of what’s possible in medicine, come join us and become an Editor!

Decoding The Role:

As an Associate Scientist II, In Vivo Discovery, you’ll be a vital contributor to our mission and our success. The Preclinical Discovery team at Editas is focused on developing novel gene editing strategies for in vivo gene editing programs and is looking to add a highly talented and motivated candidate to help develop delivery strategies for gene editing machinery into target cells in vivo. This individual will help the development of novel cellular targeting strategies and implement these technologies to treat therapeutic indications with significant unmet medical needs. In addition, they will provide molecular biology and cellular assay development support to Editas’ in vitro and in vivo pre-clinical studies. With a strong foundation in cellular and in vivo biology, this person will work within cross-functional teams including Advanced Technologies, Human Genetics and Genomics, Platform Technology, and Translational Science in development and commercialization of in vivo gene editing drug products.

Characterizing Your Impact:

As the Associate Scientist II, In Vivo Discovery, you will:

  • Development and optimization of molecular assays for evaluating editing outcomes of CRISPR-based therapeutics in an in vivo context.
  • Work with primary cells and cell lines.
  • Develop and perform in vitro cell-based assays supporting the pharmacology of CRISPR-based therapeutics.
  • Support in vivo studies for evaluation of LNP targeting and biodistribution.
  • Maintain an electronic lab notebook in a timely fashion.
  • Analyze and present data within the organization.
