Manager, Consumer Paid Marketing
DoorDash
About the Team
DoorDash’s mission is to grow and empower local economies. By building intelligent, last-mile delivery technology for local cities, DoorDash connects people with the local businesses they care about — helping grow businesses and the communities that support those businesses. To further this mission, we’re looking for an experienced consumer growth marketer to join our growing consumer marketing team at a pivotal and exciting time for DoorDash.
The consumer growth marketing team is focused on building and nurturing our consumer base by building a relationship with our consumer and providing them with an engaging and relevant cross-channel experience. The consumer growth marketing team at DoorDash is growing rapidly and it is expected this person will be a leader on the team, help develop our marketing approach, and grow their career as the team expands.
About the Role
As Consumer Paid Marketing Manager, you will own the channel strategy for Paid Search across our core marketplace, managing some of the largest budgets in the industry. You will set the strategic vision for customer acquisition and reactivation across Google, Apple, Bing, and emerging AI-driven search platforms. In this role, you will balance executive visibility with hands-on execution, measuring for incrementality and optimizing our investments to drive maximum efficiency. You will also directly manage and develop a team of 2-3 direct reports.
You will report into the Senior Manager, Head of Paid Search, on our growth marketing team within our marketing organization.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Own and scale one of the largest paid search portfolios in the industry, allocating and optimizing a nine-figure annual budget across multiple platforms.
- Define and execute the strategy for New Customer Acquisition, Churned Customer Resurrection, and overall MAU growth.
- Drive incrementality and measurement rigor by leveraging MMM, lift testing, and attribution to move beyond standard ROAS metrics.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 2-3 direct reports responsible for campaign execution and bid optimization.
- Stay at the forefront of search innovation by experimenting with Search Automation, Auction Dynamics, and Generative/AI Search platforms.
We’re excited about you because…
- You have 6-8 years of experience in performance marketing, growth marketing, or SEM.
- Large-Scale SEM Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience managing and scaling complex Paid Search campaigns across Google Ads, Apple Search Ads, and Bing Ads.
- High Scale Budget Management: Proven track record of allocating, pacing, and optimizing annual budgets of $50M+.
- Feed-Powered & Dynamic Campaigns: Strong expertise leveraging large-scale product or merchant feeds to manage and optimize feed-driven campaigns, specifically Dynamic Search Ads (DSA) and Google Shopping Ads (including Performance Max).
- Advanced Measurement & Analytics: Strong analytical background with the ability to "get into the nitty-gritty of the data." Experience moving beyond standard ROAS by optimizing for LTV/CAC, incrementality, lift testing, and MMM.
- People Leadership: Proven experience directly managing, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team (managing 2-3+ direct reports).
- Strategic & Tactical Execution: Ability to operate both strategically (communicating high-level strategy for New Customer Acquisition and Resurrection) and tactically (overseeing campaign ops, auction dynamics, and bid optimization).
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with Analytics, Finance, Product, Strategy & Operations, and Integrated Marketing teams.
- Search Innovation: Familiarity with or eagerness to experiment with emerging search trends, including Search Automation and Generative/AI Search platforms.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced Data & Querying Skills: Proficiency in SQL or Python to pull, manipulate, and analyze large datasets independently without always relying on an Analytics/Data Science partner.
- AI Tool Familiarity: Comfort and familiarity with AI-assisted coding and productivity tools (such as Claude Code and Cursor) to accelerate data analysis, query writing, and workflow automation.
- Marketplace Experience: Previous experience working in a complex, multi-sided marketplace (e.g., food delivery, rideshare, gig economy) and understanding the dynamics between consumer supply and demand.
