Engineering Manager - Drive Growth
DoorDash
About the Team
DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager with strong product sense to lead the Drive Growth organization within DoorDash Drive, with a focus on healthcare and catering / large-order deliveries.
Drive Growth builds and scales new delivery solutions for high-stakes use cases where reliability, compliance, and white-glove service matter most. On the healthcare side, the team powers deliveries like diagnostic specimens and medical supplies end-to-end—from onboarding and training specialized Dashers, to supporting multi-stop routes, to building flows that meet strict healthcare privacy and safety requirements. On the catering and large-order side, the team designs and operates experiences for big, time-sensitive orders, ensuring the right Dashers are assigned, pickups and drop-offs go smoothly, and merchants and customers have clear visibility throughout.
The team partners closely with Product, Operations, and our Health and Enterprise partners to improve on-time performance, reduce delivery defects, and unlock new revenue in these complex verticals. Drive Growth is a full-stack organization spanning backend, frontend, and mobile engineering.
About the Role
You will guide teams that build the platforms and customer-facing experiences behind:
- Specialized Dasher onboarding and education for healthcare and catering work
- Route planning and assignment for complex, multi-stop deliveries
- Tools that help our support and operations teams spot at-risk orders and intervene early
- New delivery programs and pricing models that make these use cases sustainable at scale
You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Lead and grow full-stack engineering teams building high-impact Health and Catering / large-order delivery solutions.
- Elevate delivery quality for sensitive and complex orders—improving on-time rates, reducing preventable issues, and strengthening trust with merchants, healthcare partners, Dashers, and customers.
- Build and scale products that support new healthcare and business-to-business delivery programs, from diagnostic routes to recurring catering and large-order workflows.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Business, Legal/Compliance, and Operations partners to define the roadmap and deliver against ambitious growth and quality goals.
- Provide technical leadership through architectural direction, design and code reviews, and hands-on coaching for a team of 8+ engineers.
- Foster a strong culture of innovation, experimentation, and technical excellence, including taking 0→1 ideas from concept to durable, reusable platforms.
- Grow the organization by partnering with Recruiting to hire diverse, inclusive, and top-tier backend, frontend, and mobile talent.
We're excited about you because you have…
- Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition
- 2+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend, web, mobile) of 10+ engineers
- 8+ years of industry experience
- Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment
- Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
- Humility - willing to get into the details and open to feedback
- Growth mindset - you're eager to expand your skill set and excited to carve out your career path in a hyper-growth setting
- Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity - things can change quickly, and you'll need to help the team evolve
