About the Team

On the Top Mx Partnerships Team, we secure and retain exclusive and strategic partnerships with our best-in-class selection. We will drive incremental GMV and increase profitability for DoorDash, while scaling our learnings across cross-functional teams.

About the Role

The Partnership Development Executive engages in negotiations with SMB-managed merchants during key marketplace partnership moments (e.g., churn threats, exclusivity and contract renewal discussions) to unlock mutually beneficial outcomes. The role requires a deep understanding of the restaurant industry, the ability to effectively present and communicate DoorDash's value proposition, and the capacity to collaborate across various internal teams and Senior Leadership to align on goals and strategies that will benefit Mx and contribute significantly to Top Mx Partnerships team and DoorDash’s growth. You will report to the Senior Manager, Partnership Development. We expect this role to be hybrid, with time split between working in-office, traveling to merchants, and working from home.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Leverage the sales process by owning deal negotiations from discovery to close
  • Team with xfn stakeholders (AOs, ADs, product teams, USLM, etc.) to create compelling proposals that are Mx- and DD-first
  • Build presentations and present partnership proposals to Mx partners that champion DoorDash’s value to merchants
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership at various points of the deal lifecycle (for individual Mx) and discuss broader themes to impact DD’s GTM strategies (across multiple Mx)
  • Embrace ambiguity and display a strong bias for action when scaling your insights
  • Contribute to developing the broader Top Mx Partnerships vision and strategy

We’re excited about you because…

  • You lead with discovery and take the time to understand what problems must be solved to retain a merchant’s partnership.
  • You have an executive presence and thrive in front of merchants; you can build rapport quickly from BBQ to boardroom.
  • You have a deep understanding of the restaurant industry and merchant economics (profitability / PnL).
  • You’re an expert negotiator who leads complex conversations with ease. You are also a master in objection handling and can close deals effectively.
  • You’re data-driven and use numbers to support your creative solutions in order to advance DoorDash’s goals.
  • You enjoy collaboration and working with others to build and scale solutions.
  • You communicate effectively, often collaborating on deals with Sr. Leadership (for approvals, brainstorming, presentation, and reporting)
  • You operate autonomously and with a sense of urgency but do not compromise on quality.
  • You are a structured, organized problem solver who can translate disparate learnings into a cohesive strategy.
  • You love 0 to 1 initiatives and are comfortable operating and building in ambiguity.
