About the Role

You will lead a talented team of full-stack engineers who are shaping the next generation of social discovery experiences. This includes integrating intelligent content ranking, personalized feeds, video-driven discovery, and sharing features across the DoorDash app. You will work closely with partners in Product, Design, and Machine Learning to bring these ideas to life through scalable and reliable engineering systems. You will play a hands-on leadership role, guiding both the technology and the team that make social discovery at DoorDash possible.

  • Lead a full-stack engineering team working across backend, web, Android, and iOS platforms.
  • Partner with product, design, and ML teams to build features that make DoorDash more social, visual, and intelligent.
  • Inspire a culture of technical excellence, inclusivity, and experimentation.
  • Define a long-term technical roadmap that balances innovation with reliability, performance, and user trust.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers while fostering collaboration and growth.

We’re excited about you because…

  • 7 or more years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of technical leadership or people management.
  • Experience leading full-stack teams and building products across backend and client platforms (Web, iOS, Android).
  • A strong product mindset and the ability to connect technical strategy to user value and business impact.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical partners.
  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

See below for paid time off details:

  • For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
  • For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).
The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.
